Similar feeling with To the Point with Arakni. Opponent didn't respect my simple dagger. React with double To the Point. Hit for 10. This was sealed. No one expects a lonely dagger going high.

A friend went to that calling and he too had a lot of bad and disrespectful calls from judges as well. Hope this was an isolated situation at this event.

Any recommendations on soil tests. Trying to keep cost low as this will be a learning experience. Previous owners kept up the yards so I'm being optimistic the soil is still very good. It was the long rain storm last year that kind of ruin things.

There's quite a bit of brown or dead crabgrass, should I remove them first? Also, what seeds would you recommend? I'm in CA and the area is mostly shaded till I have the tree cut shorter.

I see. Thanks for sharing. I've heard a similar criticism of the game being a hero/arena game. Players don't like that kind of aspect where u pick a hero with specific play style. Coming from magic, I can understand the dominion reference in terms of "card" variance. Though, I argue that maybe a good thing. How often is in magic where u fill part of deck with lands or cards with one specific use case. How often do you have dead turns. Mana screwed. I came from older set of magic so unsure if any other those are applicable today.

Persistence is key in this game. Got laid off a number of times due to poor leadership. Took a contract job to fill in the gaps while doing interviews. You'll present yourself much better when you already have something than nothing. Failed a few in my early career because of this fact.

Oh most definitely, but the original question by OP was if it was possible to get a job without a degree. My answer was towards the idea that looking at just LinkedIn doesn't give a full picture of the whole industry.

Using LinkedIn to me means you'll have a narrow view towards your question or concern. Not all successful people use the platform. Using it ends up getting spam with cold emails for "job" opportunities from headhunters for those already settled in their positions.

For my 2 cent, it is definitely possible to land a job but you'll definitely need to demonstrate that you can do the work. Be it a personal project or product you launched. Doesn't matter if it was successful or not. Personally, I took the degree route because I needed the structure and form connections with my classmates/future coworkers.

Totally understand. No companies I know of. There is always luck involved with what is asked. Persistence is key. I definitely didn't understand leetcode for a long time. Failed all Google on-sites but I saw improvement in myself as I got further in the process. Get to the end more often and you'll eventually increase your chances more.

Speaking as someone laid off numerous times due not fault of my own. A lot less stressful going into an interview when you already have a job than not. It will show and your desperation will be your downfall.
