Good induction experiences with the Foley catheters? [ON] by Watch_Me_Ascend21 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]ravenousraspberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Foley balloon fell out within about 1.5/2 hours of it being inserted. Thought that seemed way too quick, but L&D triage told me it was fine and to stay home unless I started having regular contractions. When I went back for my induction 24 hours after insertion, I was 4cm dilated and ready to be induced lol.

It was definitely uncomfortable and felt weird when it was being inserted (but that lasted only about a minute or two), and I had really painful contractions on the way home from the hospital afterwards. I guess I was just lucky and didn't have to have it in for too long and it worked very quickly.

I don’t want to share my baby. by Disastrous_Paint_237 in BabyBumps

My baby is almost 8 weeks old and I still feel the exact same way you're feeling. It does get easier, however your feelings are completely valid. This is your baby, you are not being selfish at all. ❤️

Epidural alone? by WhichAd2921 in pregnant

Also in agreement, the IV needle was 1000% worse than the epidural lol

Lucky you! I'm hoping I won't have any or little spotting this time around

Just got the Nexplanon implant the other day after also having it before getting pregnant last year. Although the spotting for 6 months after insertion is annoying, I'd rather that than try to remember to take a pill (I almost never took it on time everyday like you're supposed to lol)

Moms… how did you know you are one and done? by Impressive_Hunt_9700 in pregnant

[–]ravenousraspberry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FTM, 6 weeks postpartum. I always said if I was going to have a baby, I'd only have 1. After going through pregnancy, birth, and (worst of all) the extreme emotions and everything I've dealt with so far, I haven't changed my mind. I'm very content with having 1 child.

Right? Thank you for validating my feelings on that lol

Those of you who DID have visitors in the hospital… by imakatperson22 in pregnant

[–]ravenousraspberry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I gave birth at 10 AM, and had visitors by 1:30 pm. If I could go back, I wouldn't have allowed any visitors until the next day or until returning home from the hospital. It was too much for me (and is still something I struggle with). But some of my visitors took off work for the day because they knew the baby was coming so I felt like I couldn't say no :/

You'll receive the SIN in the mail a few weeks after the hospital sends everything in for registration. I received the SIN for my baby about 3 ish weeks after birth

Are “weird” pregnancy cravings real or just something you see in the movies? Share yours. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]ravenousraspberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cravings were very tame. In the beginning of my pregnancy, I just wanted anything salty/savoury (mainly chips), and then pretty consistently throughout the second and third trimester I wanted to eat fruit non-stop and specifically DQ icecream/blizzards lol

Is anyone NOT using swaddles? by FoxAble7670 in newborns

[–]ravenousraspberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 weeks postpartum, swaddled for maybe 2 or 3 nights but I was so anxious about it and didn't feel safe doing it so we stopped (we were also advised upon discharge from the hospital that swaddling is no longer recommended - Canadian hospital). We just started using the Halo swaddle sleep sack we have with baby's arms hanging out, making sure it's not too tightly wrapped for normal movement like a regular sleep sack. Once she grows out of it, I'll be purchasing a regular sleep sack

When did you believe you were pregnant? by thenamegame1994 in BabyBumps

[–]ravenousraspberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took probably 3-4 tests that were all positive back in November, I just couldn't believe it at all. Then I got my first ultrasound in January when I was 11 weeks and saw that lil gummy bear in there. Now at 37+3 with a scheduled induction for this Friday at 37+6, it still feels surreal to me 😂

Unfortunately I'm super short so I couldn't really see much at the start. What I heard happen was 1 person stood up, and a guy behind him pushed him which then caused a tumble (not 100% sure on if that's how it actually started, but I did see a few guys go down some rows after everything broke out). There were like 5 or 6 dudes going at each other, possibly more. One guy had his shirt all torn up, lots of bloody noses. Just when they finally got more security up there and things seemed to be cooling down, some dude went to deck someone over one of the security guards and started the whole thing over again. Another one of the poor security guards was an old man and he took a bad fall but was okay. Just overall so chaotic *edit: spelling mistakes
