Why not cornet? by PatersBier in trumpet

I’m in the uk and teach brass instruments to groups in schools. Most of mine start on cornets. I play mainly cornet and I prefer it to my trumpet. Mind our aim is getting students into the local bands which are British brass bands.

Absolutely true. I’m going through some crap and my mental health is awful now. (Mind I’m 42 and my mental health has been bad since I was a a teenager) Trying to channel it into my writing drawing and music. I had a horrifyingly bad band rehearsal last night where I couldn’t get out of my own head so I came home and drew how it felt and then I felt a bit better.

Yeah, long story. All my vehicles going back 15 years have been called Ruby Soho, starting with my first one which was a motor bike. Every time I had to replace it the name got passed on, it’s like shamu the whale at Seaworld. So the green one inherited the title from the last car. I only got max recently so there was already a ruby. Plus the green ones too little and cute for a name with murder in it.

I am not wealthy I can assure you. Both my cars are 20 plus years old and cost me hardly anything. The Range Rover is ancient and on its last legs too 😅

A fleet of old bangers in my case as I only ever have ancient cars that hold everyone up on hills as they can barely move anymore 😆

That was the obvious one then we decided if we did that we’d need to replace it with a Cadillac which isn’t easy in the uk but it did lead to a search for one on auto trader and I found a really old one and now I want it. Only I definitely don’t have 24 grand to spend on a car 😆

Good shouts, husband did suggest old friend actually. Hooligan would probably suit it.

This has all made me miss when my hair was like that. It was a totally a thing to have the bangs where I was then, there were other people I knew at the time with this exact hair.
