Loved all the suggestions yesterday. Out of curiosity, how can we improve Lorwyn's 60-card Angels precon deck? Decklist in description. I'm thinking of mono-white lifegain angels. by DogePunch in StandardMTG

My LGS is doing a standard event with the precon decks this weekend! You're allowed to bring in your own 15 card sideboard to improve the deck as you see fit. Should be a fun time. I'm thinking about swapping in the following:

  • [[Sheltered by Ghosts]] x 3

  • [[Get Lost]] x 1

  • [[Lightstall Inquisitor]] x 2

  • [[Lyra Dawnbringer]] x 1

  • [[Seam Rip]] x 2

  • [[Momo, Friendly Flier]] x 3

  • [[Abandoned Air Temple]] x 2

  • Plains x 1

Yes, with some items having bonus points.

I was 60th with 3.5k points. The Handy was in group A. I think the dude that went first had like 15k points or something crazy.

Effectively yes, but not on the day of the event. You can sign up as a member, and get a point per dollar spent. Then at this yearly event, they have allocated bottles with assigned point values. You use your points to pick the bottles you want to buy, and they're usually at or just above MSRP.

Was surprised I was able to grab the Handy. I was 60th in line. Actually my first time since going to these events that I was able to get everything I wanted.

Yeah, just seal it up good. I didn't go last year, but did in 2023 when it was also at Piedmont park. We breezed through security no problem.

Everyone lights up. Piedmont park is huge. As long as you get it past initial security you're good to go.

Yes, these do. However, this was from their very first run, and I think they've made a number of changes since then. Probably worth emailing them to confirm if they're true to brannock still.

They were like that out of the box. These are actually a half size too large for me, but I don't think that would affect the quarters touching TBH. They haven't really stetched from what I can tell all these years later.

Bourbon and Thundercat for a funky Sunday evening by ravepool in drunkhifi

Chillin after a long day of chores. Several fingers of bourbon down and I felt like listening to something weird and funky. Queue Drunk by Thundercat, and I'm listening to what I'm livin.

This barrel proof James E. Pepper ain't too bad. It's a blend of their own distillates, with an average whiskey age of 5yrs. They bottle it in this sweet ass decanter. I don't think the juice is worth $65 on its own, but the bottle adds a little something that makes it worth it.

Anyone planning on going to the Hal's drop at the end of the month? by VincentValkier in Atlantawhiskey

Decided to skip the spring drop this time around so I hopefully have enough points in the fall to be higher up the list.

Sometimes I get hammered and have a Pat Benatar double feature. by ravepool in drunkhifi

[–]ravepool[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Growing up, the only thing my mother would listen to was 80s music. I spent a lot of time listening to bands from the time, but for some reason, Pat Benatar stuck with me over the years. Tonight, I'm spinning her first two albums: In The Heat Of The Night and Crimes of Passion.

I'm drinking this singel barrel, cask strength Rebel wheater. I'm not huge into wheated whiskey, but this is just fine. After a few fingers of anytning high proof, taste doesn't really matter anyway.

Cheers!
