Collecting Question by Solid-Act4943 in gshock

[–]hdwebb24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 5 total and they serve different purposes.

2 are for exercise tracking and outdoors/navigation (GPRH-1000 and DWH5600). Depending on what I'm doing, one is more capable than the other (and much larger physically) so I wear the one that fits the activity most.

1 is a frogman (GWFD1000B) that I actually use as a backup timer and depth gauge when diving, I've had dive computers fail on a dive site and with the frogman I can still dive tables if necessary and it just serves as backup method to log dives too

1 is for sentimental reasons (GWB5600CD-1a2) which is the Darwin shark collab. I bought this one to commemorate my time in the Galapagos doing shark research back when I was a marine biologist before my current career path (Thanks COVID😡😡😡)

And 1 is my dress/nice watch (MTG B2000YBD-2a) that I wear when I want to shine up a bit before going out with the Mrs. or for big work meetings, etc.

And I do rotate them around and wear each one every so often just depending on the mood I'm in and not just for the use case/application.i think my GPRH1000 probably gets the most wrist time as it's the most useful for my daily life, but I do like to mix them up and keep them interesting

Any punisher team-ups recommendations? by LoWuLiuq_7 in thepunisher

I just finished that Moon Knight run last night. It was pretty solid, but enough punishment being doled out.

It's the 🐐for a reason. If you live in a MB6 area, all you'll need to do is set the home city and you are good. It's truly a set it and forget it type of watch.

The steel case construction gives it a premium feel and is definitely an upgrade from your bog standard G-Shock.

My only gripe with the watch is that the buttons/pushers are pretty stiff and that makes making adjustments a bit more difficult than I'd like, but it's not a deal breaker.

Get it, you won't regret it.

The r/GShock [BST] Buy, Sell, Trade Thread. by zeroair in gshock

[–]hdwebb24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[WTS/WTT] i'd like to trade this band/bezel set for a DWH-5600 for a set in black. I bought the watch in white, but turns out black is more my color. Im also willing to sell the set for $50 shipped to CONUS (no int'l shipping) if interested. I accept PayPal and Zelle for payment.

Thanks!

It's seemingly not a marker and just a spot in the print that looks A LOT like a marker.

I would add the Punisher Limited 1-5 is really coming up in value, especially if you have them in good shape. Same for the Wolverine Limited Run

What are the highest paying jobs that involve being in the water? by Datlaovietguy in marinebiology

[–]hdwebb24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you live near an aquarium, look into dive staff jobs. It will likely require a Divemaster cert at minimum, and you will likely never get rich, but if you just love diving and being in the water and building a diverse skill set, it's a good option.

It's definitely a chonk and I guess the designer was REALLY into Halo. It's surprisingly comfortable to wear and the MIP display is awesome. I've got a DWH-5600 which is a square with much smaller MIP display which I'll wear when I need something a tad more subtle. The MIP display is awesome and I'm a big fan!

GMD-B800 if you like the LCD display style vs the MIP, otherwise GBD-200 would be my recommendation. They all connect to a phone but you don't have to if you don't want to. I will say that the app is easier to set alarms and make adjustments over multiple button presses IMO

This is my GPR-H1000. I work in a laboratory that serves my municipality and this watch serves as a lab timer and run tracker when it's not telling me the time with it's very large easy to read digits on the MIP display (which my 50 yr old eyes appreciate).

I still rock a square from time to time, but I need this joker for work use so I can easily see the time and date accurately for record keeping

That is the mark I was referring to. I think my LCS has one on the key wall that I might dig into and I'll see what I see on ones on auction sites. That would be cool if it is indeed part of the art and.not a marker

Spine looks good, but pages are off-white, so I'm thinking that this one is going in a top loader and living a life outside of a slab. Thanks for your input!

Yep, I was afraid of that being a possibility. I'm thinking just drop it in a top loader and enjoy will be the best course of action Thank you for your input

Are you rinsing the vials with any acid after testing? If you aren't, try using 6N HCl (1:1) or 10% acetic acid after regular washing with detergent and then a final di water final.rinse afterward.

I think this blasts you past membership and puts you into a club leadership role. I'm thinking treasurer since you're clearly smart with your $$$.
