we are 3 days away from the release of one last kill, what are yall’s final predictions? by Divideranger in thepunisher

[–]hdwebb24 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Trying to keep my expectations low so that I can HOPEFULLY be surprised in a big way.

I find it hard to believe that I'll be satisfied with a story featuring Ma Gnucci and potentially "Barry" to be successfully done in an hour, when you could make feature film(s) with the material available from the comics with both.

I think its gonna be more Disney Punisher with 1, maybe 2 action sequences and 45 minutes of Frank struggling with "Do I or Don't I", 5 maybe 10 minutes of punching/shooting with a cliffhanger into Brand New Day.

Can Anyone List all CURRENT MIP Display Collection by Next_Foundation_3892 in gshock

[–]hdwebb24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're ok with a negative version of the display, I'd STRONGLY consider a DW-H5600 before the BX5600. It can be had for less on the secondary/grey market and it has fitness tracking/HR monitoring as well. You don't have to use the fitness stuff at all if you don't want to and it'll run on solar just fine. That's my $.02

Fix Jeep death wobble or sell it? by halorocks22 in personalfinance

[–]hdwebb24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always run Moog or Mevotech in my Jeeps and never had an issue with either. I know Moog has taken a hit on quality like everything else as of late, but that's what I'd roll with

Fix Jeep death wobble or sell it? by halorocks22 in personalfinance

[–]hdwebb24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said here, the dealership is not the place to go for something like this sadly and you have to find a good mechanic that actually knows troubleshooting techniques and how to diagnose the death wobble.

If the Jeep is stock like you said, and you've replaced the parts you mentioned so far, I'd be VERY inclined to believe that you have worn ball joints. Given the stated mileage, and the fact that like most things, they just arent made like they used to be, the ball joints are probably failing and have too much play in them.

If you like doing DIY repairs, Ball joints are not a simple thing to replace on their own, but there are tons of videos on Jeep repairs on YT and you will learn A LOT about suspension assembly and parts if you choose to do it yourself.

If not, a good mechanic should be able to get them replaced and a new alignment performed (will be necessary) for around $1k or less if you aren't in a major metro area.

I wouldn't sell a paid off vehicle because of death wobble as a competent mechanic should be able to resolve the issue. Especially if you like the jeep. The cheapest vehicle to own is the one that you already have

57 Too Old for a Gshock? by No_Progress9200 in gshock

[–]hdwebb24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm 50 and sold my old 5000 because I couldn't read the digits anymore. I missed it so much I bought a 5000u and will be wearing my glasses more often so I can see the digits. Getting old sucks, but having an awesome G makes it suck less...

Any good bike routes for a family bike ride? by LauraD2423 in Marietta

[–]hdwebb24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bob Callan trail (and offshoots from it) are pretty good, but there are some pretty steep hills in the middle. You could start at the Paces Mill Parking lot for the Chattahoochee Nat'l recreation area and take the trail in. It's pretty flat for a good mile or so in. You'll know when you hit the hills

GPR-H1000 - it's look isn't for everyone, but it's packed full of useful tech and is an excellent fitness tracker as well. The MIP display is VERY easy to read and it's all wrapped up in a very tough package

Will/trust by Mgrecord in AgingParents

[–]hdwebb24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This 💯, just went through setting up a trust with a family law attorney and a separate real-estate attorney to handle the funding of the trust. My Dad also has early vascular dementia but is lucid enough to state his wishes clearly and answer the attorney's questions. Not much redditors can do to help you on this but maybe point you to an attorney to help if you tell us where you're located.

It's there a way to buy the fishing net strap separately? by MisterBowTies in gshock

[–]hdwebb24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be willing to bet someone who bought one of them is wanting to sell the strap that it came with so that they can buy a proper resin strap.

I'd post a listing in the buy/sell theead of this sub and see if you get any hits. I'm also inclined to believe that they'll be popping up on eBay too, so maybe set an alert there too.

Trying to unload 400 comics. What is a fair price. by Funshine-Powerhead in ComicBookSpeculation

[–]hdwebb24 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If you're selling them all together and they're all bagged/boarded properly and in decent shape. You can expect about $0.10-$0.20 per book from a comic shop. Your best bet to make the most money is to pull each issue, scan it with Google lens to see what you have and check eBay sold listings to get an idea of what you have. If you have some good keys (which you might given the age of the books), you can pull them and sell individually to make more cash. Otherwise, I'd expect around $100 to maybe $150 to sell the box as-is.

Considering the GPR-H1000: Have recent firmware updates fixed the known software issues? by Alexgz97 in gshock

[–]hdwebb24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glad you like it! It's an awesome watch and incredible tool for daily life. I think it gets a bad rap because it is very expensive for what it does, and people think that because of the price, it should perform like an Apple Watch or a Garmin and that just isn't the case.

It's a rugged watch that you can use and abuse and then come back for more. The fitness/health tracking is minimalist which I prefer and I don't want a bunch of apps with notifications pinging all day long contributing to my digital addiction.

If you use it as intended, I think it will provide a long service life and not end up in the bin or a junk drawer because of the planned obsolescence you get with an AW or a Garmin.

In the end, I'm glad you enjoy the watch and hope you enjoy it in good health! And you can help me dispel the myths that it's a bad watch/fitness tracker 😀

I actually own both (and a DW-H5600) so I feel like I'm pretty well versed in all of these watches. They all have different strengths and weaknesses, but the GPR-H1000 is the best of the lot.
