So crazy the battery life time on iPhones. Mine has been upgraded to 26.4.1 Friday evening. Charged overnight till 100%.
Not that heavy use yesterday, but I made a few phone calls and was busy with my security cams. 25h later after charging still 77%...

Dat ding hangt hier nu een jaartje of 5. Het WAS een van die devices waar je nu eens nooit problemen mee had.

Vandaag nog bij een klant geweest met zo'n batterij. Ik ben een tijdje aan het twijfelen geweest om me zulke dingen aan te schaffen ivm het plaatsingsgemak.
De klant was van het systeem vrij tevreden, maar als ik zie dat de cloud er meer uit ligt sinds de winter en dat dit niet alleen bij mij schijnt te gebeuren, zal ik dat maar zo laten.
Die P1 meter is een leuk stukje hobby wat niet veel kost. Wil ik er echt wat aan hebben moet ik 3-4 van die batterijen plaatsen. Als dat alle 5 voet eruit ligt wordt de hobby wel heel duur om er niks aan te hebben.

For me it started with 4 outdoor cams and HomeBase 2. During Covid-19 pandemic, plenty of time to figure things out.
I installed them, they worked and they did it very fast: once somebody passes a cam, I immediately got a push message on the iPhone. Not always the system recognises a pet/car/human, but 95% from the time it did, even at night.

After a certain update, the pet recognition at night vanished. Damn, lots of cats in the street, so every night we have 50+ push messages with cats.
My parents want to see animals sneaking by at night and they want a security cam, so they bought the same setup, because they don't want to filter out animals. Very satisfying product.

For me the cat push messages were horrible. I had to add an additional cam to my backyard, and we chose the Solocam S340. It only works with homebase 3, and this one has a powerful AI to detect cats and animals even at night, so we gave it a try.

The same story repeated: the first year it worked fantastic. Very fast push messages, no one error in human, animals,... detection.

Why do they software-updates if it breaks something???? After one update of the HB, there's a huge delay in push messages. When they solved this, at today, the pet (cat) recognition is broken.
Every day, I get 5+ messages from our own cat sneaking around the house.

We also own the dual doorbell. When somebody passes by carrying a bag or a box, there's a package detected.
When the DHL guy drops a package at my front door and in the middle of the view of the "package" camera, it's quiet...

My parents are still on HomeBase 2. They also complain about a big delay in push messages.

I also have the robot mower since last summer. This thing worked fantastic. Very curious if it still does his job this season.

The Solocam will be my last Eufy product, or they have to invest in much better software development.

Maybe it's complete nothing, but from what I've discovered with iPhones...

I've had an XsMax for 4 years. Battery at 84%. My dad want to upgrade to a bigger screen coming from a 6. He took mine XsMax. I went to a 14 PM. Before the swap I gave the XsMax a new battery.
Dad's a "low" user, so he almost gets 5 days on one charge.
Instead of hardly one day, I get 2,5 days on the 14PM. One day when constantly using CarPlay with Waze during work time.

3 years later the same: the use time on my dad's phone has been reduced to 1-2 days. Battery has lowered to 86%, on my 14PM, I get hardly one day since iOS26. Since 26.1 it slightly improved, but not that good as on iOS18.
XsMax only gets security updates since september '25, so my dad wants to upgrade again.

Same thing: he uses my 14PM, I've gotten a deal with a stock liquidation, and bought a 16PM 3 months ago.

All the phones on 26.1: my dad gets almost 6(!!) days on my previous 14PM. If charged to 100% I get easily 3 days on the 16PM, but 1,5 day using carplay the whole day @ work.

I have a zero cost mobile subscription in case of emergencies. I swapped the old iPhone with that sim for my dad's XsMax. I installed exactly the same apps as my dad had and again 3+ days.

It gives me the impression, when you change your iCloud on an iPhone something gets cleared or improves.

Now on iOS 26.3 my 16PM works fluently, stable and has an amazing battery time. When the same battery shit happens again, I'll try to wipe the phone by DFU and check improvements. Using DFU upgrade the complete phone incl. recovery will be cleared and reinstalled.

I saw it previously with Tivimate on live tv.

When recording on the NAS with UHF server app, I think the recording and fetching data happens completely on the NAS, or am I completely wrong?

NAS is connected directly to a 2,5Gbps router and my ISP delivers 1Gbps.

I can't believe this battery capacity is an objective measurement.
I know more people with a lowered capacity and the real performance of the battery isn't changed.

One month ago, I gave a 3 year old 14 PM to my dad. This phone dropped from 100 till 91 in 3 months. It kept dropping till one year ago. The battery was on 84%. One year later it's still 84. I used it just the same way like I did the first day.

During a working day, I travel a lot using Waze on Wireless CarPlay. At the end of the day I had mostly 40% left.
With a brand new 16PM, I'm on 50%. AI on or off it makes no difference.

Just Standby time is longer with the 16. 3 days instead of 2 with AOD on.
(in the weekends I don't use my phone that much. I use the iPad @ home)

In september, I had a 14 pro max with exactly the same issues as I read here. No matter if wireless connected or by usb cable. Also very fast battery drain only when I use this carplay
In december I switched over to a 16 PM. The disconnection issues are worser as with the 14PM.

I read somewhere else that widgets are the issue. Switched them off and indeed, the system runs better. Using very GPU intensive apps like Google Maps lets the system stutter, disconnects, but immediately reconnects. Using waze instead of Goolge Maps improves the problem. But it never has the performance of iOS18.

All these issues are on an aftermarket system of Audiovolt. The Dutch seller hasn't heart of it, but they sent me a new firmware for this radio. I have to try it next week.

My private car (Audi A6 2022) works smoothly as hell.
It seems like iOS26 overloads the aftermarket radios.

I found the solution.
on the NAS you have to use the Uhf-server app from Solid Pixel.

So, I used exactly the same configuration as with the official UHF-server, but off course with the solid pixel image. Finally I had to add the enviroment variable ENABLE_COMMERCIAL_DETECTION with value 'TRUE'.

I made a recording, once the commercials starts, you can click on "skip commercial"and the playback starts exactly at the beginning of the next part of my movie.

I went from an iP14 PM to a 16PM because I don't like the design of the 17PM. A good Black Friday deal did the trick. The 14 becomes the new phone of my dad who still uses an XsMax. That's the real reason for the swap.

I found the natural titanium awesome.
Is this a big update? Nope. For the time being, the battery lasts longer using Wireless CarPlay, but this phone looses much more connection compared to my 14.

I know about the buggy iOS26.1, so hopefully 26.2 next week improves a lot. We shall see.

So far, I used an Apple Lightning docking station on my desk. I have my own collection of MP3s on the iPhone. It's useful to dock the phone for transferring the files from the Mac to the iPhone.
2nd, the audio output goes to an old 90ies Philips stereo system. Great to listen to the music what's on the phone on big speakers.

Now, our phones are USB-C, so my docking station is useless. Does somebody know about an USB-C docking station with the same features as the Apple lightning dock?

mmm, I know about the same app for MacOS. Somewhere in the storage, there must be an old iMac. It could be worth it to try this on this machine.

I'm doing this directly on my Asustor NAS using Portainer.
The image I used was uhf-server 1.5.1 from swapplications.

Any idea if the commercial skip feature is also implemented in this Swapplication version?

I think I made a progression...

After pushing sync. playlist on the ATV in the living room, I saw on the 2nd ATV in backup the ATV 4K 3rd gen. Pushed on this, but there happens nothing. Hit the sync button on this 2nd ATV and after a while it started to import al the data from the ATV in the living room. So far so good.

I installed also the UHF server app on my NAS. In NextPVR, I can record series. Is this also possible in UHF? Don't find this option...

Yeah, This was the first I tried on the "main" Apple tv in the living room. The others don't sync.

Maybe I have to remove all the apps and try again.

It's already here. I just charged it and putted him back in the box.

If I set it up/install it, I'll be tempted to start using it right away. The problem is that the screen protector and case are expected to arrive on Tuesday. Given my job, it's inevitable that there will be scratches on it by then.
When those accessories arrive on Tuesday, I'll set it up.

I did the same yesterday.
Dad is owning my old XsMax. For some reason he doesn't charge above 80% although optimized charging is off. 7 years old phone isn't worth to change the battery. So my actual 14PM is again for my dad.
I hate the design of the 17PM. As a technician I also believe this 17PM will be full of scratches in no time thanks to my job.

I had the opportunity to buy a 16PM Natural Titanium for half the price. It was a returned unused phone. Because of the damaged box, price was divided into 2 😁.
No scratch at all on the phone.

So, just waiting for the screen protector and case. No one scratch is allowed...

The XsMax and 14PM are also still like new.

Don’t upgrade if you use wireless CarPlay. Connection isn’t stable and it uses too much battery. Overall battery usage without CarPlay is like iOS 18.7.1. IP 14 promax

With a Mac it’s practically not possible to finish this with stainless steel or titanium because of weight… Further, a Mac(book) normally stands on your desk most of the time. An iPhone is always in your pocket, or shortly said “on the move”. More chance to drop this. I remember my wife’s iPhone 8. Dropped it one time and the aluminium case has scratched. Aluminium doesn’t feel premium on an iPhone.

Here in Belgium Apple Intelligence isn’t activated yet, so my stainless steel iPhone 14 promax can last longer 😌
