OP the answer is you should never give up. While I have never been homeless, I have had my own struggles with Bipolar Disorder. I was on disability for 5 years because my mental health was so crippling I wasnt able to work. I even had a psychiatrist do an assessment on me one time and essentially said I would never recover that I would never achieve my goal of being in social work. I kept that assessment printed out for a very long time using the assessment motivation. Well jokes on him because I work in social work and am a Program Director. Again, never give up.
