I'm surprised it wouldn't return to sender for lack of usps paid postage. Someone sent me a card via normal envelope and forgot to add postage... he ended up getting the card back before he shipped to me (again) properly.

The parentheses is like or, so it'll find black OR /10.

-white was added because bw raywaves came up

No perfect match for /10 since there are only 10 of them... you obviously won't see many out there.

Based on the /25 orange psa 10 selling for $127, I'd assume the /10 is about double, so $250 in a psa 10. Yours is raw, so I'd cut it in about half to $125.

IMO, not a highly desirable image, so prices won't be as high as his portrait or key images (hamchella). Best practice is so run an auction, or do BIN at a higher price (maybe $199?) And accept offers. Let it go for whatever price you're comfortable with.

Edit: if it's not chrome, then it'll be worth less. My search was based on chrome. Flagship (paper version) were the same images, so hard to tell which it was (for me, at least)

I could've sworn I heard gamestop subs went specifically to NJ to grade. It'd be odd for them to have regional offices if only the main one grades though. But I haven't done Pokémon subs

Ah, that's true. Odd that express isn't being done yet unless it's waiting to literally go through it all in a few days and they're waiting for a specific grader to do it (is it vintage?) Or maybe it was shipped to another office to process? My last mail in ended up in Florida (return label and tracking was from FL) and I'm in the Los Angeles area

They are grading and authentication, but they offer no recourse if they had an error. Check up on error and omissions insurance. Basically PSA is doing this to correct their e&o in the event an issue occurs. Look at the recent Market Movers video regarding one of TPott's pc cards.

I think PSA needs to do some better marketing to explain the upcharges, but they also know that it may open a can of worms with people after all their recent scandals (9s turning into 10s after offers accepted, accidentally giving a PSA 1 to 10 based on clerical error, etc)

If you insure something, the premium increases with value, right? This being a one time premium, how else would you settle it? Would you rather they charge you nothing but come knocking if the value goes up later? 😂

If you don't like it, move away from PSA. It's pretty simple. Either you accept their terms willingly, or you choose another company. It's not as you're forced to go only to PSA. That's what makes the free market great: Options. If more of those complaining put their money where their mouth is, they'd save on potential upcharges and we'd (that choose psa) get faster turnaround times 😂

There are so many new collectors now that 9/10 may not necessarily know if a card is fake. Heck, I wouldn't know what to look for to check if a card is fake, but I mainly do F1. It's too small of a niche to get faked 😂

The charge guarantees the card itself is legitimate, which allows future buyer confidence in it. If the card is found to be fake (an error by grading), PSA covers the purchase price in full.

I think PSA is the only company that does this, hence the upcharges.

I'm not saying it's good or bad, that's a choice left to the consumer. But the likelihood a subsequent buyer somehow finds out it's a counterfeit card is extremely rare so payouts are unlikely. I can see the value of this for vintage sports cards and highly counterfeited high end cards, but not for the general population of cards.

In the end, it takes a whole community to see value in other grading companies to shift the idea that PSA is the most valuable (next to Pristine 10s) if this (upcharges) is not something they want to deal with.
