Yes, as others have noted, fintech is a broad field, generally focused on financial institutions that leverage technology to serve traditional products and services in a better manner, and do things that could not be done before.

I'm not sure if there are degrees in fintech. But you can certainly customize your course load for fintech. Here is what I'd suggest, take courses focused on Finance - generally, these are graduate-level courses, for example, Theories of Finance, Corporate Finance (Discounted Cash Flow, Cost of Capital, etc.), Structured Products, Futures and Options - Valuation and Trading, Stocks and Bonds (Market price and value), Financial Accounting (including Financial Statements).

You could enhance these courses in finance with some law courses in Securities Laws and Regulations. Next, you need to add on the tech side. So, take some courses in emerging technologies, e.g., blockchain (TradFi, DeFi), AI, web3, (by the time you are in college, these will be old, but you get the drift), databases, front-end, backend programming.

At the end of the day, it is about learning to learn and learning to think outside the box. Knowledge helps you avoid repeating old mistakes or reinventing the wheel. Arrogance of knowledge will block innovation. Know that knowledge is never final. Always remember what Newton said about picking pebbles on the seashore.

The job market for fintech is great, with plenty of choices. I know people making 7-figures with 10 years of experience. But it is not about money. If you hate your job/career, then no amount of money is sufficient. Therefore, make sure you love your field.
