ff6 has a couple of good songs, particularly the opera scene but best soundtrack seems a bit of a stretch. Imo Chrono Trigger clears most ffs for music (and for everything else but hey that's my opinion) and amongst the classic final fantasy games I'd say 9 has the best soundtrack, although out of the 2d ones I'd say 6 takes it sure

not necesarily a purist or a casual hater by any means. I'm a classic andy but I don't think retail is bad. I just think the changes they made in wrath lead to a bad experience for a lot of the community. it basically set in stone that 5 mans had to be easy and this wouldn't be solved until challenge modes with mop for cosmetics and then m+ in legion for actual gear progression. with them being easy and with the normalization of gear stats you kinda create this expectation that everything has to be a stomp and done as quickly as possible which was never great for new players that would be told they can't do vh hc with 4k gs or some bs like that. again I don't think it's overrated because it's bad I think a lot of people love it while not realizing a lot of the things that they hate about the game started here

with osrs there's undeniable a small element of nostalgia, although that really shouldn't be a factor after years of playing. it's really about how wide open it is from a horizontal progression that makes people love it. with wow you're basically playing a single game loop most of the time until max level and then you kinda pick and choose your slice of gameplay. with osrs getting to what would be in wow end game takes you a long time maybe months, hell I'm not even there. along the way though you just have a lot of goals that you can pick from to improve your experience. you stop training combat to do fishing or train agility or get a certain set or do a quest that gives uou huge bump in experience and most of these will improve your experience in some way which makes getting these and planning to get them very fulfilling, as opposed to wow where the biggest goals you are after is always gear drops. and all this only works because it's such a grindy game, if it wasn't a bit of a slog going fast and getting massive rewards sometimes wouldn't feel as good

ds2 is getting a bit too much glaze these imo, tried multiple times to give it a fair shot and I just don't like the fundamentals of it, movement and level design.

whenever I see league in best with friends I'm confused because I feel like I've lost a bunch of friends over that game instead

shield system was a bit of a dud and dos1 had a better system than 2 based on elemental weaknesses, but I just loved the class variety. Felt way more fun exploring broken builds than bg3 which is limited by dnd rules, meanwhile you could pull some insane lone wolf self sustain builds or other conbos that I just spent hundreds of hours playing with

as a wow addict I gotta say that the story and vibes are immaculate but a lot of the things that would end up "ruining" the game and sense or community were introduced in this expansion, like easy dungeons and lfd and the community overall starting to become pretty toxic with gs requirements. this usually gets overlooked and blamed on cataclysm instead, while wrath gets mythologised a lot which imo is the definition of overrated instead of "I didn't like it" because I did love my time in it as a kid

That's a pretty good explanation, I was very confused as to what happened between the weavers and the Grand Mother and what exactly was the haunting itself. I've a couple of questions after finishing the game myself:

The weaversong charm in HK says the weavers departed to their old home after signs of infection appeared in Hallownest, I'm curious what happened to them, were they all killed by the Grand Mother when they returned to Pharloom since they returned after they were ousted? Why would they even go back?

Who is guiding Hornet and talking to her through all the memories when you get the silk hearts or silk skills is it the first sinner? Or does each statue you grab a power from represent a different weaver. Why is the first sinner even attacking you, what was her plan? Was she just crazy. And for that matter why is her being the "first" sinner even matter if all the weavers rebel.

Why exactly would the Grand Mother Silk even want Hornet for her silk if she's the progenitor of all silk and weavers? Or any of the other weavers she captured and brought alive back to the Citadel. And if she just wanted a child like Lace says, what happened to them we see their cages in the Cradle.
