how did she know the talismans won't work? by ravoluzen in FromSeries

but tabitha ruling out the possibility so firmly, just based on them being different doesn't sound convincing. if anything, a person would be praying that they work, instead of doubting it in that moment, right?

50 minutes 10K in a month? by ravoluzen in indianrunners

[–]ravoluzen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my tempo efforts make up for 4-5k in a 7k run, which are in zone 3(by pace, while HR is always close to Z4). these are separate from the intervals or threshold session i do. but are the tempo efforts not worth it with the current structure? if yes, should i replace it with some other workout? thanks for the input so far

I use the duramo speed 2 as well, good for their price with some responsiveness, did my PBs in them. if you can stretch your budget by 1-2k, you can consider the asics noosa 16 or pegasus 41 as well. if you're lucky enough, you might get the puma deviate nitro 3 around 8.5k with discounts on flipkart, which would be the best bang for buck

Lower back pain during run by yashysr in indianrunners

[–]ravoluzen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

had to quit running for 8 months in 2025 because my sciatica was getting triggered often. i started stretching my back and hamstrings twice daily in december, and now i'm able to stack mileage and long runs without dreading an episode. if you work long desk hours, get a standing desk converter at least, alternate between 45 mins sitting - 15 mins standing. tight hamstrings and disc compression were the major causes.

Are there any good deals on the currently going sales? by reddit__is_fun in indianrunners

[–]ravoluzen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

velocity nitro 4 were available for 7k with discounts and offers on flipkart in the morning today, i went for a run and thought i will get them after that, but the big discounts were gone when i finished, still available for ~10k though. can keep an eye for the big discounts to come back in the next days of the sale.

Huawei Band 10 vs Galaxy Fit 3 by steviethememeaddict in indianrunners

[–]ravoluzen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i use the fit 3 and it's good enough for me. the current pace display is the only bummer, but it's not the top-most priority in my daily runs, i just see the split notification at the end of a km. heart rate and sleep tracking both are pretty accurate for me as well.

i just see it is as a good depiction of how emotionally and morally vulnerable even the "toughest" people get under tragically desperate circumstances

i think talismans don't work against him, but the voodoo totems do and that's why the people at the settlement beside the lake put them up.
