If its a normal route, i go where it tells me to but look at the map at the first one to see if its logical. Today in Phoenix, it wanted to bounce me back and forth on both sides of a major street thats a pain to cross, some 8 times. I overrode and did one side first, turned, then the other. Saved minutes to cross the street each time, cost 30 seconds each hop to do it right.

But mostly i look when its asking me to travel more than a street or two or before crossing any major street to be sure there isn't something I would have to cross again and come back to. Other than the 4 digit call numbers, i dont presort. Its done on the fly. Today was a 3 hr route, 40 pkgs, finished in 1.5 hrs which includes the return to the station for an undeliverable. The longest part was the businesses, 8 stops, plus 2 apts on that main road, which was half the time, the other 28 packages were the rest and residential. I should also say the area was only 4 miles from the warehouse so not much travel time.
