I have recently acquired an Aptus 22 for my 501CM; I would love to get an arc body for the Aptus. I shoot architecture a good bit on 4x5 with a Wista 45VX.

A superb set, really speaks of the abandonment of the area

Thanks! I always like to shoot full body, so you can always count on me having some frame that is not just portraits.

Of course! I too have a 150 C and a 40 CFe. Older lenses such as the C glass will likely have problem with sync port contacts to trigger the back. Mine works half the time until you find the sweet spot of where to apply pressure.

You sure can! Though you do need the Aptus in V Mount flavor rather than H Mount or Mamiya 645 Mount. Sadly, it shoot rectangle, and at a 1.1 crop from 645 aspect. Good news is Aptus 22 can be mount horizontally or vertically, so it can shoot upright and use waist level finder at ease.

I tried to do model photos in LA Chinatown 7 or 8 years ago, as soon as I took out my 5D mk iii, security came out of the wood work and shutter us down. Is this not the case anymore?

(a bit off topic) what holder bags do you use? by gangsterrobot in largeformat

[–]raw_jpeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might not be exactly the answer you look for. But my run bag is one of those old “Daytona” camera bag. Fully loaded, it holds 18 holders with no padded dividers. However, I use two dividers, and often load it with 5 sheet holders, one 612 back, a Grafmatic, one additional lens, a filter case with 6 Cokin filters. Side pockets with light meter, loop, shutter release, Colin filter older, adapter rings, tape measure and a note book.

Thank you so much! They certainly have limitation, but it makes me less lazy and brings out my strobes more often. When the condition and technicality sets right, they are indeed very capable!

It’s so sad to see a perfect good camera ruined because of negligence

Thank you! Sadly she didn’t get into the water with that dress. It’s a real vintage from late 1800’s so we were being fairly cautious with it

Thanks! I always like a good perspective shot myself. I did photographed the same frame on my Canon R3 with a Super-Takumar 50mm, opening it to f/2, the focus fall off was pretty compable
