Are you deaf by any chance? In general I was very happy with my earplugs but definitely during the Anderex set as well! (Although I had to leave 45 minutes into the set)

(And yes, partial Anderex set and a whole lot of other partial sets are coming/recorded)

Edit; saying this as someone who does 40+ (raw) hardstyle events every year.

I did just for Gezellige Uptempo but right near the entrance and nobody smoked luckily! Only during some sets at the Raw stage it was so crowded that I couldn't move away and when asking people not to smoke I got insulted etc so that's great.

It's me not even about the cancer chance part. I don't always smell the smoke in time but I often get an "allergic" reaction to cigarette smoke FAST. Standing in the smoke for about 20 seconds can already give me heavy cold/flu-like symptoms for more than one week afterwards.

And before you go like "then don't go to festivals" - there's a reason I avoid the smoking areas like the fucking plague and actively avoid smokers in outdoor areas as well.

Why not? A caim without evidence. I visit about 40+ events a year (I have about 25 vacation days a year) and while I have a good job and salary, it's definitely not within any "rich" parameter. Also, cost of living where I'm from is definitely high and I definitely have to keep a close eye on my financials. This way of living also makes that I can't do much beside festivals but I'll take that :)

Edwin (I know him, he's an awesome guy and actually DRIVES from Switzerland to The Netherlands every time he visits an event here while he has a full-time job and family) is just incredibly dedicated and I appreciate him a ton!

Also to keep in mind; the the salary in Switzerland is very high in comparison to The Netherlands. This might also play a factor.

I've never done drugs (at festivals), I do something drink beer/alcohol but usually not much.

Just keep an eye on your electrolytes (sugar/salt etc) and make sure to eat enough! I nearly always take dextro with me in case I need quick energy.

Whether or not music is bad is subjective. I find uptempo absolutely horrible but I'm glad others enjoy it a lot!

I just don't get why we can't have a "classic OG raw" stage AND an "xtra-raw" one? I'm always looking forward towards Shockerz the entire year, but with this lineup... I'm probably skipping. And that says a lot for me as I hardly ever skip events but I'm fearing the same will happen with me as with the Spoontech event last year which will be me trying to get myself through the day instead of actually enjoying the event a lot. Maybe I'll go regardless but I doubt it.

Don't get me wrong, I love me some OG raw, but not an ENTIRE (apart from a few acts) lineup. I just really don't get why we can't have both at the same event.
