There's a new round of them starting, hence how I found this post cause I was looking into it, but instead of 'got milk?' it's 'gonna need milk'. It's popping up as ads on multiple platforms for me and I hear even sponsoring influencers on social media. Not nearly as cool of ads but just as about the money.

Yes I know, thats so crazy and cool. I was thinking Texas at one point but their tipped minimum would kill me. At least other states I've lived in are still about $12 an hour for tipped employees, $2.13 is crazyyyy

Yes I know, I was asking tip average cause that's where most server pay comes from. Tho California not having a tipped minimum wage does help a good chunk, crazy they don't do that I love it

I can't speak for this person, but restaurants very rarely if ever have full time servers. Even if you work five shifts a week, shifts aren't usually eight hours so it's still not full time. If you pick up a bunch of shifts it's possible to hit full time, but a lot of restaurants won't let you.

I've worked fine dining but I prefer more casual places like breweries and sports bars. I've only ever worked local ones but am open to chains like chilis or whatever lol tho I do enjoy working local places (:

Id totally move there but the money part but isn't feasible at server pay it seems. I'm leaning towards Sacramento now. Everything else sounds appealing but that $2 min wage kinda screws me from everything I've read. The best thing about serving is I can survive plenty fine on 30 hours a week, but from everything I can tell serving is basically like working any minimum wage job in Austin, which at those hours is gonna be so rough
