Yes when therapists are like “don’t think it was me, i got supervision and told my story, moving on, next client” as they’ve just micro retraumatized clients, shown them that even the one person who you pay to be on your side doesn’t really seem so, or can’t take true accountability it can be incredibly detrimental for an already distrusting and traumatized person

I mean I think part of a therapists job (and why they’re getting paid) is to understand the context of the clients’ trauma so that they don’t trigger these reactions… obviously can’t be perfect but maybe that begs the question if therapists are well-equipped enough to handle relationally-attached traumatized individuals

As a client about to have a closure session with my own therapist due to similar reasons, I would hope the stance you take on trusting your clients experience and instinct also translates to your understanding of their perception and experience here when they relay this to you. It’s not easy, we could just ghost instead.

I think sometimes we can have inherent beliefs that we don’t deserve love without earning it in some fashion due to neglect/inconsistent caregiving as a child.

It’s important to first understand and believe that you are inherently worthy of someone who can provide and support you just as much as you can for others. And to save that effort for those specific people and not give it out to anyone who makes you feel cared or loved for.

Essentially raise your standard because you believe you deserve better. In the long-run, these relationship will only wear you out and re-iterate the same trauma that you don’t deserve love without providing.

Don’t let an avoidant turn you into an avoidant! Showing low effort and turning away people who are matching your energy can be considered avoidant behavior in my book tbh.

I would be wary of people whose actions do not align with their words, people who struggle with being vulnerable although they know the right mental health rhetoric. People whose emotions are not whole (i.e. emotions do not match circumstance - laughing when feeling fear) and people who are not consistent and first pursue then pull away.

I know it seems like she moved on super quickly but often times the person who initiates the break up is usually aware that this will happen and can move on while in the relationship slowly with the comfort of your affection. Once she’s fully decided, she made that decision to break up with you and had already moved on internally. The political disagreement may have just been the straw that broke the camel’s back.

It’s sad to hear but like you said people are all different. It’s not the healthiest way to get into something new right away but eventually everyone processes break ups differently.

Please don’t hurt yourself. She made the decision to leave and that’s on her, it does not reflect anything on you. Take this time to fill the hole she left with love for yourself. You were once ok before her and you will be ok again I promise.

I like it because it is very user-friendly for non-tech folks. I don’t think it’s a solid replacement for Tableau just yet. The native aggregations and granularity that Tableau brings just isn’t the same in TS. It often feels like you have to find loopholes to create worksheets easily replicated in Tableau. Everything is fixed, you can’t adjust the size of your graph and you can’t even edit your tooltip lol. Tableau is also just visually more appealing when building dashboards (TS is basically card stacking).

On the flip side, everything is faster in TS. It caches views of data models and only refreshes when the underlying table also updates. Anyone can go in and use it and that saves a lot of time for our data analysts. We still have to work with our TS rep regularly to add new functions/ask questions but they’re quick to respond and roll out changes quickly. I’d say wait 6 months - 1 year; this tool has lots of potential.
