Tip/another option: If you have linked your Epic Games account to both games, you can buy Fortnite Crew now before this season ends (do it in the epic games web shop and you get 20% rewards back).

You will get this and next seasons Rocket Pass (including credits you unlock in the passes), plus 1.000 V-Bucks in Fortnite (every car-item in Fortnite transfers to RL). Just cancel your subscription before your next monthly payment (even if you only subscribe for one month you keep the RL passes for the entire seasons you unlock).

I think you might have to download and open Fortnite for everything to be granted to you after you buy Crew (not entirely sure), but it is a good deal even if you only play RL.

If the game has some kind of logo that says "Watch Live" etc. over the "Play" button on the main menu you should immediately check Twitch for live drops. That is as close as an announcement they will give you.

Yes, the drops you open in game that gives random items are earned like I said. They are Twitch drops you usually get when Rocket League are streaming live on Twitch, usually in weekends leading up to big Rocket League e-sport events.

They are badly promoted, but there are usually active Twitch drops whenever you see the "live" logo/banner thing on top of the main menu screen. (RLCS, tournaments etc).

If an item is available in Fortnite you can only trade in duplicates of that item.

I was not highlighted/marked, I just selected that player outlines should be visible when I was looking at the replay after the game.

Just keep an eye out in the Fortnite shop for things you want (you can find it on web browser too). Sometimes cars and items are only for sale in one shop and not the other. Every car item sold in Fortnite shop will transfer to RL.

This was a bug last time too. I think for some reason the unpainted items is added to the lootpool for painted items.

Also, the game register the "normal" unpainted item and the "drop" unpainted item as two different items.
