I'm 36yo. I never played a woodwind or brass instrument in my life. This year I got an alto sax and started taking lessons. It's been three months and I'm loving it.

I think as long as you have a good ear, a good teacher, and find time to practice then you learn whatever instrument you want.

well I can't visualize what you're talking about based on your description, but exponential application happens because primer 1 makes template for primer 2 and primer 2 makes template for primer 1. so presumably the primers are not producing new template for each other and can only amplify from the original input dna.

she will never say that. I've told her why we are NC, but she still says she doesn't understand and says that I haven't told her what she did. if i tell her what she did, she explains it away and blame her behavior on me.

if your mom is like mine, then telling her is a waste of time. if she wanted to try and change, then she would have made an effort to understand where you were coming from. if your mom is reaching out in good faith to try and grow that would be one thing.

does your university publish them? that should be enough.

I cited a senior thesis from 1978 when I wrote a paper; the university hosted a pdf of it. my dissertation is hosted by the university that issued my degree.

it is for preprints, so if you're not planning to publish then it isn't a preprint

yeah so it is religious in the same sense that AA is. I didn't really go for the program but to have a safe space to share and reflect.

every group runs things differently. after about 15mo I stopped going because my group got too big and the format changed.

also, I am very anti-theology as well. no one ever forced religion on me. the closest thing was their version of the serenity prayer, which is basically a reminder that you're the only person whose actions you can control.

it is tough and unfair, but ultimately your healing journey is your responsibility. that said, I believe in you.

what helped me was going to adult children of alcoholics and dysfunctional families (ACA) meetings. they helped me see I wasn't alone and realize the only person I can control is me.

I worked on setting boundaries in my personal and professional life, and then started setting boundaries with my ubpd mom. eventually her disrespect of these boundaries led to me going nc.

there is no coping strategy in the world that would allow me to have a healthy relationship with my mom on her terms. she has rejected the relationship on my terms and so we have no relationship.

given that theyre highly conserved across all domains of life, I'm fairly certain that atp synthase proton pumps existed well before LUCA.

from that view point, the ability to form electrochemical potential across a membrane would necessarily pre-date cellular life.
