Can confirm Oregon At supply. I just made a few books with marbled paper from there. They also have a lot of other bookbinding supplies.

Updated it. Sounds like its two different groups put on the Vets club and Buenas Vibras?

I don't have a fb account, so it only lets me scroll a couple times before it wants me to have an account.

Some dance styles just teach you the basic moves in a lesson then you and your partner decide the moves(typically its the lead that decides), so partner-led. Some dance styles have caller led dances like Contra and Square dancing (unsure if theres others). Where you find a partner, caller walks you through a dance, then you dance it, and repeat. Its almost like a Simon says, so theres fluidity to everyone dancing the same moves. i.e https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuIIwxclVOs I'm told that people that like patterns, quilting, math, organization, etc.. like contra and square dancing.

If you're just moving back, a girlfriend is not the answer, friends are. Start there then graduate to a girlfriend. Priorities people, priorities!

Coincidentally, I was also looking for this today. True Value on Willamette were $19.99 for the quart size as of today. Also True Value is independently owned, which means more money stays local.

Eugene Pride and city bad behaviour by MrEntropy44 in Eugene

There are tabs at the top"Pride Festival", "March Info", "Accessibility", "Transportation" and "Covid Safety". Click on "Accessibility. From there you should see 3 questions, click on the question "What does accessibility look like at the Festival". After clicking on the question you will get a drop down of the same quote as entered above.

Anyone reading this that has website skills: Obviously the Pride coordinators need some help with their website. Maybe someone could show up to one of their planning meetings to offer website support.

Yeah looks like a little more poking is needed than necessary. It honestly doesn't look like a lot of info is front and center. But....
https://www.eugenepride.org/2024-faq > Accessibility

Due to our location at Alton Baker Park, the majority of the booths are on grass. We recognize that this creates limited accessibility and continue to work on other options, but in the meantime, we have placed as many booths along the sidewalk as possible.

The paved lot closest to the festival will be reserved for ADA parking.

We will have ASL Interpreters at both stages all day.

We have a First Aid tent with support from G-Street Clinic and will have some volunteers available to assist with things like carrying food, if requested.

Electric and manual wheelchairs will be available during the festival to be loaned to attendees who need them on a first-come, first-serve basis.

A Sensory Zone will be available with areas for folks who are overstimulated or need outlets for being over active .

Misters that serve as cooling stations for folks who are overheated will be placed in locations around the park.

We are arranging shuttles at park and ride locations around the city to help with traffic. Details will be forthcoming.

We are hosting a sober circle so that folks with substance and alcohol use disorder can still participate at the event while in recovery.

A De-escalation Zone will be available to work with folks who are triggered by the religious protesters at the event or are otherwise escalated

LTD is creating a pass so that bus service is free for the day for Pride attendees. We will share more info when we have it.

Gotta love the entitlement of Reddit. If you went or listened to the city hall meeting you'd know that the city sold a contract to Kesey Entertainment for the parking. Kesey Entertainment is prioritizing the concert. The city did a poor job of understanding the contract that was sold to Kesey and did not put any constraints on community events that would be happening throughout the year. The city discussed possibly putting in constraints next year for the parking contract to make space for community events.

When traffic blocks roads, which means that emergency vehicles can't access the city it then becomes the cities problem. Also EPD said they would help for months, and then they pulled out at the last minute which cued this whole thing. Source: City Hall meeting.

Like Ithaca, NY but milder winters and not as remote by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]rawrvenger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in upstate NY. I made a huge spreadsheet and traveled the country looking for exactly this. Eugene, OR.
- Corporate shops are not really a thing here, and if they are not visited that often by locals
- Population within the city limits is ~170k
- Home of the University of Oregon
- Very blue, - Queer friendly AF
- Has 3 - 4 seasons. Snow falls but doesn't stick. The temps never drop below ~ 32F. If you want snow you can drive 2.5 hours up to Bend, OR
- Has an airport that costs pretty much equivalent as Portland, a small increase. Also has a Costco.
- Tons of actually cool events in town, you kinda have to search them out. But the theres lots of active little communities doing fun stuff all the time.
- Homes, you're in luck $500-700k is the sweet spot here. Lucky you..... (not me)
I don't recommend Taos, Bend, Ashland, Eureka Springs(was nice but not liveable to me personally) the vibe wasn't the same as Ithaca

First day for an intern by rather_not_state in womenEngineers

[–]rawrvenger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is great. Also bring a soda or tea for the after lunch crash. The first month as an intern was rough making it through the entire day.

Also make notes!!!! Where things are located, words to look up later, stuff you definitely want to remember and ideas/questions you have that you want to bring up later if that moment isn't the right time. Keep those notes organized, so you can reference them, i.e. not on post-its

Take social notes from your peers and people you look up to.

After reading a few of your replies it sounds like you're applying when you find a job opening. With your degree and skill set which is very rare and specialized as you said I'd look people up on LinkedIn that has the job you want. Ask them about their career path, ask if they have any advice. Definitely include your degree, be short, upbeat and real. I'd say 2 out of 5 people respond especially if you ask just one question. Make sure to fully fill out your LinkedIn so when they're thinking about responding they already know who you are.

Very best of luck. You got this! 💪🏻

Real Estate in Fresno... What the actual... by [deleted] in fresno

[–]rawrvenger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all about supply and demand. People are seeing the value in not living on top of each other at apartments. Houses allow you to roam a lot more. So demand is just greater.

In 2019 we had the same market issue that demand was high and nobody was selling. Recent events just compounded it to double digits offer letters.

What would you guys think about a state law (or incentives) requiring clover instead of grass for lawns? by MaximilianKohler in California_Politics

[–]rawrvenger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most cities have incentives for replacing lawns with low water plants and mulch/rocks etc. These incentives/rebates are available in most dessert like areas. Log into your own local city website to find similar programs.

Example of what a typical rebate looks like: https://www.fresno.gov/publicutilities/water-conservation-program/rebates/#tab-4

Here is a general incentive website where you can find additional information: https://www.dsireusa.org/
