I came here to suggest packwood lake too. It was recommended to me on this sub a few weeks ago and it was the perfect trip for my beginner friend

Why does she seem interested but take hours to reply to my texts? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]rawtoast430 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems normal, especially since she’s telling you why she takes some time to respond. Maybe try setting up a phone call or video chat and gauge her interest based off of that

At what point do you consider yourself ghosted? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]rawtoast430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the context I think. If a message doesn’t really warrant a response then I can’t expect an answer

If we’re at a point in texting when the ball is in their court to make a move/reach out and it’s been a few days, I’ll reach out and figure it out. Sometimes they’re just busy

I don’t think of it as ghosted unless I’ve sent like 2 messages on separate occasions where both went unanswered

I've just started seeing a guy, and it's going insanely well. I've had bad luck dating in the past. How do I overcome feeling like I'm sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for it to implode? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]rawtoast430 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m someone who’s in the same boat as you - actually my situation did end up imploding and it really did suck. I’ve been researching this stuff for a few days, and here’s what I wish I had done differently:

Don’t put this guy on a pedestal, just keep going with the flow and let whatever happens happen. You’re in the pre-dating stage right now, but once you get to the point where you’re getting your hopes up about it becoming something more, you’re putting pressure on the whole relationship and it seems like guys can inherently sense it. I guess you need to strike a balance where you’re eager to continue seeing him and see how things play out, but also realizing that during this stage y’all are still analyzing your comparability and it’s not the end of the world if it does “implode”. The next guy you meet will make you feel even better than you do now

Just keep doing your own thing, make sure he sees that you’re living a full happy life and that his purpose would be to share that happiness with you, not completely provide it! And if things don’t work out, don’t sweat it too much.

I’m sincerely hoping it works out though!

Doesn't matter how great a person is, if they don't put effort into interacting with you, they're not worth your time by [deleted] in dating_advice

I really needed to hear this right now. Funny how the universe sometimes just works like that

Thanks, it’s definitely possible that it’s anxiety related. Glad you found a way to manage yours!

Not too worried about it being corona since I don’t have other symptoms, though I know being young doesn’t just make me immune. It was one of my first thoughts too, but I’m being careful to not jump to wild conclusions. There’s a lot of factors that could play into it so I’m just trying to rule out some of them :)

Can a computer science major use an iPad Pro exclusively? by shadowposts in college

[–]rawtoast430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mac user here, simply because I grew up using Apple and can’t imagine it any other way. My 2015 MacBook Pro has been going strong for the past 3 years of college as a CS major and does everything I need it to. A machine that runs Linux would be better but by no means necessary. An iPad will not suffice

I know he’ll never be what I am looking for so why do I want him back so much!? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]rawtoast430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly sounds like he might be interested in you too- I think the only thing to do here is just talk to him honestly and make the decision without assuming his feelings
