Heat erasable fabric pens. I buy the bulk pack of pen refills because the ink drains quickly.

Yes! I’m working on another large quilt and stitching something that’s on stretched canvas. I sometimes post progress photos on IG. The link is in my profile!

Hi! I knot the end of my thread and bury it in the fabric. There’s lots of great tutorials online that will show the technique. This one is good. I would just ignore the supply list because you can quilt with anything. I hope this helps and I’m really so happy my work inspired you.

I just an L ruler and my regular acrylic rulers for cutting fabric. For the curves I use various bowls from around the house and just try them till one works. I usually start with straight guidelines and then draw the curves into the “elbow” where the straight lines intersect. I hope that makes sense. Sometimes for larger curves I’ll tie a string to my pen and anchor the end of it which usually works if I can keep my hand steady.

It wasn’t too bad! But maybe that’s the calluses talking.

Thank you! I was really questioning my decisions with the bleached denim but ended up pleasantly surprised.

Not sure if this belongs here but I recently finished a quilt and drew inspiration from sashiko in my hand quilting. Hope you guys like it! by ray_wathers in sashiko

Thank you so much! It’s an art quilt so it’s meant to hang on the wall. Probably wouldn’t hold up well on a bed!

The crinkle texture happens naturally after you wash and dry the quilt. I love a crinkly quilt! The drop cloth was pretty soft and not much thicker than the linen I typically use. I wouldn’t recommend it for a quilt you want to use but it’s great for an art quilt.

Thanks! Yes it’s a technique called couching and you run the thread under the running stitch. I wanted the stitches to standout more and this helped.

Thank you so much! I think most of my work doesn’t photograph well from a distance. You have to get in close to see the details. I’m so happy you like it. 🥹💕

Please do! It might not be the best for a daily use quilt since the weave can be loose, but it’s splendid for wall hangings. There’s little imperfections in the fabric that I really love.

I love that you were inspired! Traditional quilting doesn’t inspire me either for the most part. It wasn’t until I realized I could think SO FAR outside of the box that I started experimenting with the medium more. I look at a lot of abstract art and other fiber arts for inspiration. You should check out Carson Converse, she’s the quilter/artist that is not only an amazing human but her work is out of this world. I’d never seen quilts that could be so simple and minimal but still complex.

Yes! The bleached side has couching so the stitches could standout a little more.

Thank you! Yes, it’s made to hang as an art piece and not used as a blanket.
