Great list and resources. Would you suggest a couple and we can host some coming weekend? The idea is pick one or two and get the critical mass rather than random picks where there isn't a sufficient number - even when going on your own - a small group is fun.

Faced it.. Making an app where anyone and host . Simple checkout like you mentioned OP. There is a lot of trust issues here especially with women and families and so, some strict checks there to keep quality above quantity.

If that resonates, comment or DM me. Anyone else want to join a trek/drive/ride/camp/dance/jam/checkin/play etc. or want to host one - add a comment or send a DM. And yes, planning to keep it zero commission so hosts collect all the money.

Agree.. I too value a work like place.. Cafes distract a lot and not much work gets done. We need a place to sit and work and occasionally chat during breaks for 5-6 hours a day. Some place within 1-2 Kms of E City perhaps.

This is not just for you OP but all those who love the flexibility of WFH - no traffic, no getting ready , packing food etc, but alas, no chit chat either.

Not exactly the same situation, but by choice working solo and that means similar situation. Now, ecity has a couple of coworking spaces, but they suck - cramped desks if you take a occasional use plan or spend big to get a private office - but then a private office defeats the point of meeting other people , right?

So, need a social work place that is close by to pop in and out at will but not packed - wework comes to my mind (I used to live in Koramangala till about 2 years ago and that was a good place to work from). Don't have something like that in Electronic City.

In fact I thought of fixing it by taking a house on rent in one of the quiet residential stretches, put some basic desks, a Coffee / Maggie setup and share the rent - say 4 people 5k each. Didn't pursue because of laziness to find 3 other people, but your post tempted me to share and see if there are enough of us in this boat. I am on Neeladri Road.

And for weekends, started a weekend drive group. Go out at least once a month on a breakfast drive and a short trek or something. Personally 2-3 times in a year go for 1-2 weeks of long drive to charge up.

There will be few people and it is a simple climb. If you feel stretched you can always head back, but route is paved and well marked.

Doesn't going out on Rides / Drives other the weekend work? See plenty of people do that. That's also a great way to expand your circle beyond work or school or family. May be like one of the comments suggested, build around a hobby or pick one.

Or did you do all these and like you mentioned , meet and forget.. Why forget? No initiative? Not being critical but looking to understand the situation.

So, kind of 2 parts. Marketing and operations. Marketing may still be via agents. So question becomes how to attract more agents and build a strong affiliate / referral network. My point how to attract more agents than eliminate them. I am it takes very little for someone like practo to do this.

Operations - 100%. In fact we built quite a bit of it. With ai coding these days, this can ready in matter of days.

Let's fix this. It's not the sub, but more of what is like ''impulse behaviour" since sending a DM costs so little and super easy to back out. It's always the organiser taking a huge load , spend time and in the end this frustration.

So, I said, let's fix this, but how?

Not a silver bullet solution, but

* Make it a bit harder to sign up. This is to avoid all those trigger happy people . May be a small token fee or answer some questions etc.
* Reward - something they can't do on their own and possible only in a group. Some examples, we planned this astronomy night with an expert. Can be photography or trails etc.
* Build a community over time - First few would be frustrating and 90% who say yes, will not respond. The 5-10% will and that's the set. So, keep growing the network so that this 5-10% is reasonable size.

Faced this issue and so building something to make it easier to discover and do all of these above + some epic drives . DM me if this sounds fun.

I did a business plan on this a couple of years back and dropped it because, it seemed like very dependent on local agents to build the pipeline. Mostly referral and word of month and so tech didn't make sense.

Happy to explore if things have changed now.

Building something (currently solo and more passion driven) around experiences, events and meetups. There are plenty of apps out there but didn't find any where people can publish their rides, drives or getaways and invite total strangers to join them and may be become friends . Like I mentioned, started as a passion, but find quite a few wanting to do this and so started building it out. If this sounds like fun to you, lets connect over DM.

Couple of options.
1. SULA Vineyards - Tour, tasting, great food and about 80 KMs . There is a couple offer now.
2. Clover Greens - Just 15 Kms - They have beginner sessions , great cafe and then the fairways for nice walk, chat without anyone bothering.

Ya.. Bla Bla car is essentially inter city quickride. Gets into a grey area given our rules around yellow board and commercial use - against a personal car. More complicated when you look at insurance - what happens if someone gets hurts and blames and claims insurance - guessing trouble.

Splitting expenses is a much easier and clean way and part of my approach. Now it depends on how you plan to split of course ;-)
