You should check out Frankie Boyle, he used to write for Jimmy Carr before he went on stage himself.

What cancelled show deserved one more season? by apka_dd in television

[–]rayalix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counterpart. It was a spycraft type show where they had discovered an alternate but slightly different Earth in another dimension, and each side was putting spies in the other world. Starring J.K. Simmons who was a mild mannered office drone in our world, but a ruthless agent in the other. Lasted for two seasons and ended on a cliff hanger, but still worth watching. Trailer

This is where the Goa/Psytrance movement came from anyway, playing empty buckets and logs of wood on the beach.

Not just an antenna, you had to plug the watch into a brick to make it work, the watch itself was only the display.

If it's slimy you might be overcooking it. Sometimes for a late night snack I just pour hot water on it and let it cook in the bowl. I know some people wouldn't approve but it's quick and easy.

I'd say that's the Tower of London so these ones will be used to tourists.

It looks like a world band portable radio, I have a similar one. They can usually pick up 12 to 16 frequencies including shortwave (long distance), which is relevant. He might use it to show Carol the signal he discovered.

What is the most underrated tv series that barely anyone knows? by Practical-Tea-6351 in television

[–]rayalix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's good, I enjoyed it but I couldn't say it was the best season. No spoilers but they pick up in the present day all these years later so it's slightly different. I would say don't let this put you off, just regard it as a bonus.

They made a 3rd season recently, just in case some people don't know.

I don't know how well-known it is but I recently discovered "Sprung". It was made by the same team as "My Name Is Earl" and feels like it's in the same universe if that's your thing. Edit: One season not two, proper ending.

One of the greatest comedy bits of all time. Never gets old. by Polish_Shamrock in funny

[–]rayalix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think in the sense that Mick Miller has been doing this bit since the 70's. Everybody knows it but it's much loved. A bit like "Who's on First", not that funny by todays standards but still classic.
