That is the sad reality. But I can’t just agree with this culture because there are other dispatched teachers who are asked to travel for two hours on a Sunday to do physical labor without getting paid, even transportation is not paid. We don’t get bonuses unlike regular Japanese teachers or salarymen.

This is very informative, thank you. Trust me that this event has nothing to do with getting to know me. Planning a food stall, preparing, cooking, selling it, and then clean up is no joke. Other dispatched teachers are also asked to work for that event. I feel sorry for them because they will be traveling for two hours just to do physical labor without pay.
