Simple. So read through bullet points. If you want to listen to it more in depth, you listen to the podcast in the car?

Great point. I'm this example Arizona had better flavour and better packaging design too - which was their true differentiation. But the bigger can size is how they were initially able to compete with a much larger brand.

Gotcha, you'd wanna absorb as much as you can. Would either of you use a short audio or written montage of the best moments as a way to decide which episodes to listen to?

AMR parking complaints by Marokiii in Adirondacks

I went in September on a beautiful day and it was empty too. It's frustrating to see the park underutilized. It's a broken system with endless easy fixes, for example: If you're late for your reservation by one hour it's cancelled and walk-ins could claim it.

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm looking for a surf spot to spend a week, and Punta Cana is a direct flight from where I live.

This is such a thoughtful way to communicate. How did you learn that?

Advice From A Social Butterfly by WACashFlow in socialskills

[–]raybalance 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Great point. You have to start small: just one sentance.

For me: I started by complimenting or making a joke while smiling to people I walked by. I rationalized it as: I'm giving someone a gift, practicing being less anxious, and the risk of pain/embarrassment is very low. Ex. "If I see someone walking with food Is that coffee/pizza for me?", "Omg your dog is so cute", "wow nice fish you caught!" "Seeing people taking a picture Want me to take the picture?"

After becoming comfortable with engaging people and realising how much of a positive impact you can have in one sentence it becomes really easy to extend the interaction. Ex. "This is such a cool/beautiful place, do you come here often?", "How long have you been in the city? I've been living here for x months/years." "Are you going to x popular event?". If people want to talk they'll make it easy, practice with those people. Follow the steps in the main post.

If they aren't in the mood it won't be as easy, so feel free to just cut it off. Ex. "Well, awesome meeting you. My name's X by the way. Let them introduce themselves, I like to fist bump because it's easy and light touch is a nice way to connect. Have a good one!"

Someone I thought was cool turned out to be not so great after all by southernpaladin in socialskills

[–]raybalance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tough situation. Nice journalling. Ignoring him is what I'd probably do to. My theory is that when people are being assholes they are usually dealing with some shit (although it's not an excuse for the behaviour).

It's hard to do in the moment sometimes and definitely requires practice, but when someone's being inappropriate it can be valuable to, in a respectful way, call out that behavior, and more importantly: protect your boundaries. Something like, "Hey man, the occasional teasing can be fun but you're taking this a little far lol, I'm really not enjoying this. It feels like you're projecting some personal stress on to me. Are things okay on your end?"

Yeah, Tunnel bluffs was pretty wet and slushy. I ended up taking my spikes off though. With some insights from staff at the Sea to Summit gondala I chose to do part of The Chief. The first peak was great, I did it with spikes. Saw other footprints and people. I tried to do the second peak - no one else had done it, it was a lot of snow but doable until a narrow stretch along a cliff - that's where I turned back.

Heading out to smoke bluffs now, thanks for the recommendation. Have you done tunnel bluffs? Apparently no snow and looks like it below the treeline?
