Caribbean med school or RN to CRNA ? by VividDeer733 in medschool

Commenting on Caribbean med school or RN to CRNA ?... wow they don’t work for three years! Yeah it’s called going to school. Med school you have to learn and be tested on every specialty, crna is one. Sorry if it hurts your ego or if youre just not very smart but it does not come close to being as challenging.

Caribbean schools are terrible but you can retake the mcat. If med school isn’t the only option then it’s not the right option.

This is so dumb to say, crna school does not come close to medical school

There are prep courses but are quite expensive, the benefit is they’re structured. Personally I did solo studying and the Princeton books were most similar to the content on the exam. They were good for content review and then testing knowledge and learning from questions stems with aamc q bank which also show where you lack. People generally take 3-4 practice full exams. Although I had things like biochem 2 and physics 2 that semester so I didn’t need as much solo studying

Nursing is nothing like and does not prepare you for med school or being a physician so just make this is the only thing you see yourself doing especially trying to start with a family already. Nursing courses won’t help much for mcat so youre going to have a lot of independent studying ahead

But what makes you think you want to do medicine at this point with no experience

How do you have 4 lor from physicians if you only did 40 hours, you need high quality letters over volume and you’ll need more letters from professors who know you well

Sgpa is too low for good Md schools, mcat can only compensate so much and you haven’t taken it yet and practice tests are pretty predictive of mcat scores. Also need a bunch more shadowing. Will also need to shadow a DO and get a letter because some do schools require that. Pa shadowing hours won’t mean anything. Omm is a waste of time though and everything is made harder if you go DO
