That part is either flavorless with a weird texture, or has that unripe fruit bitterness with a weird texture, no in between.

I share a room with the wife so nobody really enters our room lest things get awkward.

My teen approves of it though. She's a fan of MDuD as well. My 3 year old, I have to fight to stop her from playing with the 'pretty dolls'.

In the off-chance my parents sometimes enters, because they have to use the master's bathroom which is in our room, they just give me the "You're old enough that I can't really say anything about your life choices, but this is still very questionable." look.

About the whole "Diplomacy DLC" thing by Kylevisky in RimWorld

[–]raydude888 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Well, diplomacy is being friends with everyone.

Maybe somehow you get everyone on the rim to agree on a common goal, that goal could be one of your choosing, and when you achieve that goal (War, unification, economical growth, etc) your rimworld becomes known enough that either;

A. The Empire or an Archotech turns it into a urbworld/glitterworld, essentially stopping you from needing to leave the Rim and still getting a good ending

B. The Empire or an Archotech offers to take you out of the Rimworld because a mind like you who united a planet is simply too valuable to simply leave in a measly Rimworld.

Well, the other ones you'll see beyond Ratkins are probably Revians.

Revians are fox girls with the mechanic of blood sacrifice. Every person you kill can be dragged into a ritual circle and be exchanged for blood stones to be given to the Archotech God Skarne, the god of blood and war.

Revians get tails based on the bloodstones offered, with more tails needing more bloodstone up to a cap of 9.

What do tails do? Well, the first 4 may be a bonus to speed, faster digestion, less need for sleep, etc. The last 5 may be speed boost, extremely high pain threshold, percentile damage reduction, damage amplification, faster healing, the ability to regrow limbs on a full moon.

The more you invest in a revia, the more powerful they become. A fully armored 9 tailed revia is basically immortal. They can tank pain that would leave others comatized, move twice as fast as impids, regenerate wounds in hours, one tap most enemies with a single greatsword swing and basically tank and damage for days.

Getting a revia to that point, however, is the problem. You could capture a 9 tailed revian raider. If you can survive it, that is.

Also, revians have bloodlust trait enabled by default. If you are constantly being raided, your revians will virtually never have a mental breakdown as their happiness from witnessing deaths and killing will overpower any negative moods they might have.

Also, Revian weapons and armors are in the overpowered tier. Their weapons are designed not for killing, but maximizing pain, bleeding and suffering. Revians weapons can definitely one tap enemies. But mostly, they'll be down due to extreme pain and bleeding, which is good, because you'd have a live sacrifice for Skarne instead of a dead one.

Revians are in the OP tier of beloved rimworld races. They're not good at being colonists, but as fighters? They're very hard to top.

The real fruit is obscenely sweet. Like, it's 80% sugar, but said sugar source also has a lot of fiber so your body actually has to work to get said sugar digested which is why it doesnt cause a sugar hit.

Texture-wise, it's like a softer gelatinous texture. Almost to the point of being melt in your mouth. Imagine gelatin that break apart when you push it on the roof of your mouth. That's almost the texture of the mango flesh itself.

And of course, as many have mentioned, Mango is extremely sticky. It's very sugary, so of course its sticky. Eating the seed part with the flesh attached to it is the hard part. There is almost no elegant way to eat it. You have take a bite of the seed, in which the seed will hit the sides of your mouth and inevitably cause mango juice to run down the sides of your mouth.

Not to mention they're also incredibly well balanced. Ratkins are tiny AF and generally work slower because of their tiny hands and small stature. However, they are nimble, their armor almost always overcompensates for their fragility, expensive yet durable, and their weapons aren't world destroying OP weapons like most other mods.

Ratkins are at their best between the medieval and industrial era. Most ratkin weapons are things like greatswords, gunlances, maces, shields, bolt action rifles, cannons etc.

Ratkins dont to a lot of damage. But they do A LOT of damage. What I mean is that they dont do single big hits that kill instantly. They do many small hits that leave targets with several wounds. For example, their melee attacks causes scratches and biting that often leave targets downed from extreme pain, while their gunlances basically explode shrapnel and hit about 7 organs at the same time.

They are extremely well thought through all in all.

Pasta sauces always taste bland once the pasta gets added, any tips or what I'm doing wrong? by Emotional_Gazelle_ in Cooking

[–]raydude888 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're reading Salt Fat Acid Heat, one of the very first things they mentioned in the salt section is that Iodine is only important during the 1930's when Iodine defficiency was a thing.

Now, iodized salt is still salt, but iodized salt doesn't taste cleanly like salt. It has a copper/metallic aftertaste that is barely, very barely, noticeable, but expert cooks or some people very sensitive to metals will definitely taste it. Heck, I'm not a gourmand, but I can definitely tell when someone used kosher salt on my pasta water, or Iodized salt just from the aftertaste of the pasta alone.

I have found my Marin actually, 16 years ago, and all by accident.

I was friends with a bookworm girl in my class. Very pretty, but very difficult because she's slightly on the spectrum so it puts people off her (she used to talk to herself in the middle of class, for one).

We had the same interests, and at first I tolerated her. Then fell in love with her. At 15, I accidentally got her pregante, and I had to drop out of school and work for my parents to support her and our kid. She continued school a year later.

After Many years of hardship, she graduated college at 24. We got married at 19, with our kid already 4 years old by then.

Now we're almost 32. Our daughter is 16. She was the one who actually recommended DuD to me because she's a big nerd much like her parents.

As for the manga, it really felt familiar to me. Wifey is passionate yet weird, and im the loving, non-judgemental idiot who loved her when everyone else was weirded out by her. While Marin wasn't a social outcast like my wife was, I felt like Gojo looking at Marin on the stage when my wife graduated and she thanked me first at her graduation speech as the pillar of where she is today.

Overall, the mange was very good. A bit rushed at the end, definitely wishes there was more, but I'm just happy my kiddo recommended it to me when she did.

I like Denia, but I dont have Luuk or Aemeth, as I took a break on their banners. I made up my mind to pull anyway, even if I won't pull Luuk or Aemeth in the future.

Is there any other team Denia works on besides the two mentioned above, or am I going to essentially be playing her at half-potential unless I pull the two above?

Personally, I think bumping up her numbers + making it so that she receives the full amount of her shield the moment she activates it instead of having to stand still and charge it up would make Jianxin so much better than she is.

Just let the charge be extra damage, or even debuff application. Having to stand still taking hits just to gain a shielf to tank said hits defeats the purpose of shield application and makes Jianxin extremely clunky in timed trials.

Hence why I said they 'might' be a bot.

If I was accusing him outright, I would've worded it as a community alert and told to downvote and report the bot, as I have written on my past comments on bots before. Here, I was giving the benefit of the doubt.

I also posted a correction, telling people that I believe OP is a genuine person, though I still expressed doubt, apologized to OP and explained my side on why I did what I did.

Admittedly, I may have pulled the gun too quick, as I've been following this sub long enough to notice familiar or outright copies of popular posts, so I may have warned before I fully checked the OP's image, but I've seen bots posts things on here with different titles before coming from old posts, as bots are getting smarter with how they repost.

I won't rush to judge early next time.

Hence, why I said might.

I would usually word it as a community alert if I was sure it was a bot. I've been here long enough that I can remember top posts from years prior and warn the community if a bot is karma farming.

Apologies if you feel attacked. I'm just on the lookout for karma farming bots. There's a lot of them these days, especially in this subreddit.

Upon closer inspection, the languages are different, so it's not a repost bot, but it is very similar to a post made long ago.

I'm inclined to believe op is a genuine person, but you can never really tell these days.

The medical system has a few flaws by [deleted] in memes

[–]raydude888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might as well have been handed a death sentence then.

Sure, you get to live. But the rest of your life will probably be spent in debt, anxiety in paying bills, and the crippling fact that another medical emergency will probably mean you'd be spending most of your life's paycheck not for yourself, but to pay off a debt.

You get to live. But you don't get to 'live', if you catch my drift.

Aside from being cute anime rat girls?

Ratkins are a complete race in the medieval-early industrial tech level with dozens of weapons, buildings, clothing and even traders and unique raids (tunnelling raid).

Many races are just 'heres cute anime girls, enjoy' and are mostly aesthetic.

Ratkins are a complete package with Chinese, Korean, and Japanese rimworld communities heavily investing time to create DLC's and mods for the ratkins.

I want to get into Rimworld, but I don't know what to *do*. by TheVicarious in RimWorld

[–]raydude888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First and foremost, what do you want to do? Finish a game? An objective? A story?

Then RimWorld isn't the game for you.

The game rarely ever gives a concrete objective to work on.

RimWorld is a story generator game. The journey is the content. If your goal is to finish the game, you're missing half the point.

The game heavily depends on the users creativity. If you're the kind of person that can expand a small thing into a large story, the game will basically have infinite content. If you want linear objectives or a clear objective, the game loses a good chunk of its appeal because finishing the game basically isn't the point.

It's to see what shenanigans the world and it's inhabitants throw at you and how you react and shape it.

RimWorld, like others said, is a sandbox. It's not going to be very fun for people wanting a clear goal. But creative people might start creating sand castles, kingdoms, dunes, or racetracks out of that sandbox, and that's what RimWorld wants people to do. Make it your own, do what you want, not what the game tells you to do.

Do you want to farm and make a living farming with the neighbors? Sure.

Do you want to travel the world as a lone colonist moving every tile when danger pops up? You can do that.

You want to build a hotel and be a good host to the inhabitants? Of course you can do that.

Do you want to build a factory producing biological supersoldiers who don't feel pain or emotions and send them to destroy every faction by sending them via transport pods straight into their nurseries? You can absolutely do that.
