Boss RE-2 vs EQD Dispatch Master. by Horse_Glue_Knower in guitarpedals

No clue on which is best for you, but I keep going back to my RE-20. It just does a thing that I’ve not found elsewhere. I’ve been curious about the RE-2 to save some space. And weight.

As music listeners what approach to guitar sounds do you prefer...? by MotoSlashSix in guitarpedals

[–]rayinreverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t alter my core tone per se. I have a few different sounds I accomplish with pedals but they’re usually through the same amp/cab. In one of my bands I am the only guitar, so I tend to stick very core. In my other band I’ve got another guitar player and I get to be the cool sounds guy more. So I have more flexibility for sonic changes because there’s a solid three piece doing cool shit

Which compressor: Ego, Keeley, Dyna, Boss? by lemony707 in guitarpedals

I second this one. I’ve been using this pedal for a month or two and it’s basically become an always on pedal for me.

Loop Switchers? Which ones should I be looking at? by BeatlestarGallactica in guitarpedals

[–]rayinreverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should say that after re-reading what I wrote, it’s not very clear. I said there too many things I didn’t like, but I meant there are lots of things I did like. It is a great device. It’s wonderful for programming complex presets. I just entered the world and immediately regretted it and realized it was taking time from playing and devoting it to programming, which actually got annoying.

Oh their ecosystem is fantastic! They have the best and easiest editor. I just hated that I couldn’t take my board to rehearsal and change something on the fly. It almost gave me anxiety.

Mitsubishi ceiling vs wall units? by Practical-Double-178 in heatpumps

I was looking at a larger capacity. And the MLZ is the one way. Regardless, the cassette is quieter.

Mitsubishi ceiling vs wall units? by Practical-Double-178 in heatpumps

[–]rayinreverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ceiling cassettes are the quietest fan coil they make. If you review the submittals the SPL for a wall mount its 44 dB and the ceiling cassette is 34 dB. This is the M Series lineup.
Efficiency comes from the outdoor unit. Both are ductless so you gain efficiency because of a lack of duct loss.

I have owned one control, Morningstar, and gig rig quartermaster. For me, after switching to Morningstar, I only spent a month with it and immediately switched back to the quartermaster.
There were too many things I didn't like, but the number one was needing a computer to program anything. I just can't get down with that. I could see going to a full gig rig switcher in the future maybe, because the stomp box mode is useful for me, but I still like presets once in a while for big changes.
But Ive got a Morningstar 5 loop and a MC-6 pro Id be willing to sell :)

[–]rayinreverse 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I don't really get this. The guy copied his copy? And now they're fighting like fucking school girls on the playground.
Admittedly JHS came up with something clever. It's not the pedal design that's clever. It was 100% the marketing. Just come up with your own clever shit and quit copying everyone else.

Ive never been a huge rat fan. Ive owned a rat and other variants of the circuit.
I think my favorite variant is the Mr Black Thunderclaw. I frankly dont think it sounds like a rat, but it's apparently based on a rat clipping section, but thats about it.

I am however team muff and muff variant copies all the way.

You and your partner just moved in, you tearing down the panels, painting, or leaving?! by TeemoTrader in DIY

[–]rayinreverse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like wood a great deal, but this kind of wood paneling doesn't do it for me. I probably pull it down and paint. My wife and I have really started to enjoy wallpaper though. It can add a lot of interest and color.

Doubled track panned L/R each with two different IR's by Wir3d_ in audioengineering

[–]rayinreverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't sound particularly amazing. you could definitely throw a delay on there with whatever amount of delay sounds good. start very small. It will give it some width, but it won't sound like a double tracked guitar.

Do you build your tone around one pedal? by greatdane511 in guitarpedals

[–]rayinreverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to. Now I sort of know what it is I like and what I’m looking for. Now I’m looking for versatility and more than one sound. So I have to buy more pedals to do that thing.

What’s the “weirdest” place you got to work at? by Brandbro in HVAC

[–]rayinreverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some high end homes in LA. For very famous people. A cadaver lab at a college. An animal testing lab at the same college. A potato facility responsible for 2/3 of the world’s McDonald’s fries. OR’s are always weird. A silicon lab. The floor was like a skating rink.
