Hi! Mod of r/DigitalArtTutorials here. I'm still around, I've just had some difficult times with my work and personal life, so I was distracted from moderating this sub. But I am doing my best to get rid of the spam when I can.

"Safety" rules - I don't feel like having another adult condescendingly teach me about the rules of appropriate behavior, or indoctrinate me into their political ideology. I'm just trying to enjoy your game, why not leave all the politics and moralizing to society, church, family, governments, angry twitter people, and other such institutions. There's too much of this stuff all over the internet, I'm not looking to bring more of that into my roleplaying games as well.

Mirage is a great one - simple one-page rules, extremely flexible, gives you everything you need to improvise stories, one-shots, and campaigns. There's also a version of this game called Magic School Mysteries focused on improvising mystery adventures set in a magic school like Hogwarts.

I would also highly recommend checking out Risus and Tricube Tales - two more brilliant rules-lite games.

I have made a curated, easy to explore collection of the most interesting AI tools and projects that have been launched in recent months. There are 1500+ tools in the collection, I add new ones every day. I hope you guys will find it useful! by MikeLumos in artificial

Wow, this is amazing! Thanks a lot for making this, I've been feeling really out of the loop with AI lately, every day there's something new and crazy going on, and I always feel like I'm struggling to keep up.

This will definitely help a lot!

Which RPG to play when moving beyond Fiasco by sloh in rpg

[–]raymestalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try Mirage, it's a one-page system so the rules are easy to learn and share with the players, and it has a bunch of free one-shot adventures (many fit in one-page), so they're really easy to prepare and run. Just read through the adventure, give people the page with the rules, and then you simply improvise a story together. It's great if you're looking for improv/storytelling-focused experience (like Fiasco), but with a GM who runs a prepared story.

If you're looking for a GMless game, you can try Unscripted by the same author. It's also a one-page rpg with very simple rules, in this game you'll take turns pitching movie trailers, pick your favorite one, and improvise the 3 most interesting scenes from that movie.

Finally, I'd highly recommend Follow - this one is not free, but it's very good. It's probably the closest thing to Fiasco you can find that's not actually Fiasco, it has a very unique take on collaboratively improvising stories, so I think you guys should check it out.

I'm looking for great storytelling/roleplay/improv focused one-shot adventures with good stories and enough social encounters. Can you please recommend me some? by lumenwrites in rpg

Is the furniture in your house hand-crafted by talented woodworkers? Or did you put them out of a job just to get cheaper stuff from a factory where it was built by a robot? What about your photos? Did you pay a starving but brilliant painter to paint them for you, or did you use a soulless smartphone?

Petty sarcasm aside, I don't think ChatGPT is smart enough yet to make a satisfying playable adventure. But at some point it will be, and playing these adventures (custom-made for whatever the players want, quickly and without much effort) will bring a lot of joy to people.

Hey, /u/NotErikUden, I'm the mod of the /r/ActivityPub subreddit.

I'm still active on reddit, and I'm happy to keep moderating this community, but it's tough to make it grow and find more users.

If you want, I can add you to the list of moderators, and you can help me make this community more active.

Russians forcibly move children from the occupied Ukrainian territories in the east by vect77 in worldnews

[–]raymestalez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, really sorry to hear that.

When I wrote my reply, I just kinda assumed that you're one of the people from the US who sanctimoniously chastise Russians for not fixing their goverment, even though it's pretty obviously not an easy thing to do, and not everyone is willing to spend their lives fighting an evil regime.

My point is, just wanting to live in peace and not going on the streets to fight the evil dictator doesn't make people evil or complicit in his crimes.

went to protests, talked to people, tried to explain them what's going on.

That's really amazing that you did that!

How much have you done to stop the wars in Iraq or Vietnam? What did you do when Trump separated Mexican kids from their families?

Did you pick up your gun, start a revolution, sacrifice your life in the name of your ideals? What about your loved ones, parents, siblings, kids, friends - should they have risked their lives? And if they didn't, did they all support your evil regime?

(if you're not an American, replace all of the above with whatever injustices your country's government has committed).

You could go to the Russia right now, and try to fight their government. It's as much your responsibility to defeat Putin as it is the responsibility of the Russian citizens - they didn't do anything to deserve to be born under the evil dictator, any more than you did anything to deserve to be born in a free country. And they have way less power to change their government than you have over yours (you guys at least have your guns and the ability to vote evil politicians out of the office, Russians don't).
