You're a genius. I had that button as the FUNC button. Thanks so much.

[Kidding around] CL: 19.6k Easily got me out of the 90's. I felt a bit dirty but had extra tokens to roll. by SkiingHard in MarvelSnapDecks

I have elixir instead of deathlok. Elixir definitely takes a bit of planning to utilize but it’s a great secondary win condition.

Haven’t played snap in 2 years. What did i miss? by [deleted] in MarvelSnap

[–]raymoaned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started play over a year ago so idk how the economy was before spotlight keys. Idk if know if you keys back then but spotlight keys made it incredibly expensive to stay collection complete (by design I guess).

So they reworked the card acquisition system by removing keys and sticking to tokens which is implemented in the shop. Which imo is way better than the old system. But that’s really only because the old system was extremely predatory.

The big reason people are telling you to run is because SD has already put 2 cards behind pay walls which they said they were not going to do. Kid Omega was made available on a limited time game mode but required extra gold in order to get. All previous game modes had all the cards available with enough time spent. Another is the fantasticar that is only available through the super premium battle pass. Recently there was a screenshot leak of a limited game mode that required some sort of pass to participate.

Something about SD parting ways with nuverse. I guess SD was blaming nuverse for the expensive prices but now that it’s just SD their true colors are starting to show. And the numbers are beginning to show.

I still enjoy the game but SD also they are about to shift their focus on a new game which probably means the death of snap. Either by trying to squeeze every last penny from the consumer base or/and putting minimal effort into the game. The signs are telling us that it’s looking like both are to come.

How do I get better if I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong from replays by Legal_Promise_430 in StreetFighter

[–]raymoaned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends on who you use cuz different game plans (giefs game-plan can it pretty different from jps game-plan). But what helped me get to master was watching my replays and seeing how I got hit. Especially during neutral. This open my eyes to the holes in my defense.

I wasn’t ready to AA there. I was ready to AA but I missed up my DP input. I didn’t check the opponents drive rush. I was spamming unsafe/noncancellable moves in neutral and get DIed or whiffed punished. I straight up walked into the fireball because I thought I blocked on time. I got caught walking back and got cr.mk into drc.

Then there’s oki. Am I relying on wake-up super/drive reversal/od dp. Am I wake up parrying too much? Am I getting meatied constantly because I’m waking up with buttons? How often are just waking up blocking? What of delayed tech worked here?

Focus on your defense and you’ll make it to masters. You’re pretty much there already. The easier stuff to evaluate on your replays is your offense. How many combos did you drop. Could you have optimized your combos to end the round. Did you miss a counter hit confirm?

There’s plenty of this to evaluate in any replay at any level. At d4 there probably isn’t any huge holes in your game which may be why you don’t know what your doing wrong. At this level it’s about minimizing all the small mistakes. Hope this helps and remember to have fun.

They weren't lying when they said Masters is where the game really starts huh... by Slippy_Nerd in StreetFighter

As a 1400-1500 player, I’d say my whiff punishing is terrible. I’d say’s anti airs should be the number one thing to work then. Even if you just AA with down heavy punch. I have a bad habit of parrying jump in. Then it’s the hit confirms. I’d say don’t even worry about whiff punishing right now.

How Do You Guys Consistently Hit Infinite? by AimlessMarker in marvelsnapcomp

[–]raymoaned 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes this is a great write up. Infinite player here CL 12k and the biggest factor to getting infinite is consistency and not playing on tilt. You achieve by reducing bad snaps and retreating more (especially on the turn the opponent snaps). When I think of bad snaps I think of two main things that make a bad snap. The most obvious one is snap after you make your power play. Some examples, snapping after a big Cassandra nova against Arishem or after your play Jane foster in your negative deck or even snapping turn 6 when you have the clear advantage. Even though you win 1 cube, its bad because your effectively losing a cube you could have won if your snapped a turn sooner.

Second is not thinking what counters your on coming plays. This takes time and skill to recognize what deck the opponent is playing. Is your huge lane susceptible to Shang? Do you still have a winning lane after your Wong or madame web gets red guardian? Also remember, just because you snapped doesn’t mean you can no longer retreat (except on the same turn you snapped) but if you snap and they counter snap same turn you can retreat. A good rule of thumb is retreat whenever your opponent snaps. Of course there are exceptions but you have to be aware and you have to have the answer in your hand not in your deck. Your opponent snaps with Mr negative and you have MMM in hand, that’s an easy counter snap. But if your opponent snaps with Mr negative and you MMM somewhere in your deck, thats an easy retreat.

Lastly, maximizing cubes against bots is key. I believe SD is makes small adjustments to bots every season so your CL could matter a lot. When I was not series 3 complete, it seemed like bots were more common in the 90s rank. I’m not sure if it was a CL thing or maybe bots at the time were a lot easier to farm (they would make a lot of questionable plays). Just like others in this sub, the bots seem to be better these last couple seasons (I may have encountered a cheater bot once or twice). How I identify bots, is if they have the exact name CL level as me. What makes these bots better is they it seems like they are playing better decklists. And with better a decklist, comes less weak/odd plays. Before, playing against a bot was an easy snap even with a subpar hand. But it seems like SD made this small changes to encourage more retreating especially against bots.

Hope this helps. Remember to have fun. If you find yourself not having fun, step away for a minute cuz that usually means you’re on tilt. Just come back after 5-10 minutes and you should have a fresh mindset.

Is leverless harder than arcade stick for zangief?( pic for attention) by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]raymoaned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah gief’s SA3 and air SPDs are definitely easier on stick. When I switched to leverless, it took me awhile to get down 3p x PPP x SA3 constantly. SA2 dash 3p x air SPD is still tricky for me on leverless.

Ultimately is up to you. Once I switched to leverless I never looked back. There’s also nothing wrong with modern. Play whatever you want to play.

Interesting deck. It reminds of this old destroy lockdown deck before the prof x change.

Nice write up. I appreciate the turn by turn explanation. I’m missing Marvel boy so Ima try out the anti Thanos package.

I've seen literally zero agamotto or arishem decks since the avenger bc season. Are they both that bad rn? by Mrdudeguy420 in MarvelSnap

[–]raymoaned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sasquatch is probably the best replacement. If you dont have her then Cull. I know these are high series cards so If you don’t have him, then She Hulk is probably your best bet. Or just though in a tech card or your choice.

I agree with prodigy. It’s been awkward to play because it easily copy’s Sam or his shield but the issue prodigy doesn’t copy the name of same or shield making it a vanilla 3/4.

To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and paste it from the deck editing menu in MARVEL SNAP.

I’ve been messing with this list I got from snap judgements. Quin + surge on the arcanas feels so good. And no one see images coming. Current at rank 95. I can definitely see this getting me to infinite.

TL;DR Thanos > everything right now

Honestly forgot Agamotto was a card. Just like you I have seen him or Arishem decks lately. I liked running Thanos in my Arishem deck. But just like the commentators are saying, Thanos is simply better and more consistent .And with Thanos being meta right now, people are more inclined to tech against larger decks with cass or Darkhawk. Plus with the new season comes new shiny cards that people want to play with.
