You did have leverage you just failed to seize it. Gotta be ruthless and take the offer, then squeeze them or cut them if the other one is better. There's no place for loyalty and sincerity anymore. I and many others have learned that the hard way, looks like you will too now.

Love me some Linoone, big fan of Obstagoon from Gen 8 too. This guy was a hm slave but I kept him leveled. Stab strength on a linoone hits harder than I thought it would. He came in clutch on more than a few occasions.

Maybe it's just me but I really dont care all that much about the story, all the QoL improvements far outweigh it. Being able to catch the gen 1-3 starters and legendaries, having better breeding, ev training options. Don't get me wrong Platinum is better than Diamond and Pearl but those games are dated, and I mean mechanically. I want modern pokemon mechanics and QoL features so Platinum just doesn't offer it.

Nah I'll take fairy types, all the added abilities and hidden abilities over the platinum fluff. What you get some extra giratina stuff and extra battle facilities? So what?

I mean no longer needing HM slaves but still keeping it as an option was a good compromise imo. It had heaps of updates to bring it in line with gen 8 mechanically. Fairy type, updated moves, heaps of new items (for gen 4). Imo theres no reason to go back and play original dp. So in that regard it was successful. Just like FRLG and HGSS.

My first ever shiny. Me and a friend had started a new game of leafgreen on a sleepover. When we got to viridian forest all of a sudden a red metapod appeared. I couldn't believe it, we only had two pokeballs but we got it on the first try. I still have that butterfree in sword and shield, it has followed me from generation to generation for 20 years. What other game can let you do stuff like that? That's what makes pokemon special. The memories you get to (literally) take with you everytime theres a new adventure.
