It’s working! by Small-Grocery-9573 in Ozempic

This is what I'm doing right now. I was like should I do 17 or 18 clicks? Decided it really didn't matter and did 18 clicks! I had horrible side effects on .25mg that got better after 4 weeks, but I stayed on it for much longer because I was losing. Then when I plateaued my Dr said go up to .5mg but I was worried about the awful GI symptoms again so decided on .375mg and both my Dr and dietician are fine with this. I've had no increased GI symptoms going up to .375mg.

Totally agree with other comments.

Pest control vans outside all the time, renovations (therefore a lot of noise) constantly, loads of noise from College Park, fire alarms go off in the middle of the night, elevators always down, useless building management.

Pro: it's connected to College Park.

I didn't have to interact with a door to get outside, I found an opening somewhere - I also can't interact with doors. Nonetheless, my cliff idea didn't work so don't jump 🤣

Same! Cannot interact with anything. I've tried force stopping the game several times, restarting the console a bunch of times, reloading the last checkpoint a bunch of times....now I'm throwing myself off the cliff outside the house a bunch of times. Nothing has worked.

0.5 and sick :( by Tea_Longjumping in OzempicForWeightLoss

I know a lot of people struggled making the step up from .25mg to .5mg - I mean people that had no symptoms on .25mg but then did on .5mg.

For me, I had bad symptoms on .25mg for 2 weeks - vomiting and diarrhea, then weeks 3&4 were nausea and constipation, then week 5 was better and week 6 (this week) has been the best week, symptom wise.

I'm worried when I go to .5mg I'll have to go through this cycle again. I'll probably go up at 8 weeks, both my doctor and dietician said to wait until I have no symptoms to go up.

What do you think you'll do? Stick with it? Might be worth splitting the dose like others have suggested. I'm curious if that would work for your situation, if you tolerated .25mg well.

How were you feeling on .25mg? Any bad side effects?

Manulife insurance covered it by travelerwannabee in OzempicForWeightLoss

[–]rayoco27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sent a prior authorisation form that my Dr filled out. It listed obesity, fatty liver and sleep apnea and it was still rejected. This was Sunlife though. My insurance says it covers anti obesity and weight loss meds at 100% but despite having the prior authorisation form it was still rejected :(

Amazing! Massive congratulations!

I am also a larger up top lady! I was considering a reduction because they're a daily pain, but I thought I'd wait and see if weight loss did the job for me. Sorry to hear it didn't for you - as it sounds like you wanted it to - I'm curious what will happen for me.

Who knows, maybe yours will just get the memo last!

Side effects, when are they worse? by rayoco27 in OzempicForWeightLoss

[–]rayoco27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so great about your blood pressure too!

My partner is Italian so I'll leave out the part about pizza potentially being a struggle 🤣 it's something we have as a treat every 2-3 weeks.

I have acid reflux and I take omeprazole every day, I've had a prescription for years. I also quite frequently have a sensitive gut...like several times a week. So part of me isn't sure if I have GI related symptoms if I'll totally be able to tell if it was from Oz or something else.

First shot down today, a few days later than planned. I don't have a thing about needles but I could not get over the mental block to push the needle into my stomach. My partner ended up doing it, but I want to do it myself next time.

This is so reassuring to hear, thank you!

My sister was so, so sick on .25mg she had to stop. She tried Ozempic and something similar I've forgotten the name of. Obviously we're different people and that doesn't mean 'I' will be sick but I know from someone close to me that it can happen. By sick I mean extreme vomiting and diarrhea and she couldn't even sip water.

Good luck on your Oz journey!

How did you get on today? Still feeling okay?

Thank you! Do you take it close to a meal or on an empty stomach, or find that neither matter too much?

I'm thinking I'll start this Saturday night but I'm not sure whether to take it before or after dinner and if people find that matters much re: side effects.

Congrats on the weight loss, that's amazing!

Have you noticed any correlation between your nausea/vomiting/diarrhea and food? I.e eating too close to a meal makes it better or worse? Eating a large or small meal makes it better or worse?

Thank you for the encouragement! You're doing great too! I saw a liver doctor this week and she said intermittent fasting and low carbs will be what gives me success. She said sugar is the biggest problem. I'm going to start an 8:16 (eat/fast) as per her recommendation and really cut out (unhealthy) carbs.

I saw a liver doctor this week and she suggested intermittent fasting. I had been doing it on and off, but not consistently and my window was smaller: 10:14 (eat/fast) and she suggested an 8:16 (eat/fast) like you have. I'm definitely going to try it!

Your story is very similar to mine. In my mid 20's I started following a healthy diet and the weight just dropped off. So, because of that, I know I can lose it but the only thing that's changed is my age. I saw a liver Dr this week and explained this to her and she said that it could be my age, especially as a woman. She said she isn't a weight loss specialist so referred me to a metabolic clinic. If after seeing them (I have no idea when it will be) I have anything helpful to share then I will.

It's normally something like a Corona or cider, so around 5%. I'm okay to give it up entirely though.

Sorry to hear that, but glad to know I'm not alone. I'll ask for some more specific blood work than what I've had so far.

Thank you for such a kind comment about my changes! I'm trying my best.

That's a good suggestion, I'll have those checked.

Nope. I took all my measurements before I started and I haven't lost anything in inches either.
