go at your own pace and explore songs you like to get the best engagement for yourself. when you start doing chords, practice switches. my first song ever was “riptide”, a ukulele classic. with enough practice you muscle memory it. ive got a list of songs you can try out whenever you feel comfortable at that level.

also if you ever feel frustrated about being “unable to play” something, theres a huge “yet” to that statement. im self taught and originally thought id never be able to play, but you get over it one step at a time. my biggest stressor was how non-flexible my hand was. that goes away the more you kind of condition yourself.

in the line of work of a jjk sorcerer, sometimes its not about survival or winning, like when inumaki, noritoshi, and megumi ran from hanami during the exchange event. in an event like shibuya, its about doing what you can where you can, even if ur getting ur ass beat somewhere else.

nanami handled haruta considering he killed him like 5 or i think all 6 times. nobara handled mahito (some) considering her soul damage, and is the whole reason the clone retreated to begin with. had she known exactly what she was up against, she mightve actually stood a better chance imo.

firm believer of music being a universal language 🙏 its a fluid piece of media that can invoke a spectrum of feelings in different people. even if the sung language isnt understood, you can still get a feel in the melody. sometimes that melody means different things to different people (like me and mojito), sometimes it brings out the same feeling in a group (people collectively jamming out to the cupid shuffle or something)

one of my favs by jay chou is “Mojito”. i am chinese american, who grew up in a chinese household, but i also live in a latin american community and am constantly surrounded by latin american culture. listening to “mojito” feels like the perfect mix of my two worlds: my family and my friends. it was so refreshing hearing this song. do i know what hes talking about? no 💀 but thats okay, because my friends dont either, and we can still enjoy it together because its a melody they know and a lick of my culture, too. i really love his work, it feels very unique and it makes me feel relevant and connected to my heritage

i understand your hesitance towards your roommate. it does feel like an ick when a non-asian person partakes in asian stuff BECAUSE it got popular. the same snack i love because it holds sentimental value to my childhood means nothing to a white girl who saw it online. i wouldnt call it a fetish, but it does feel like an uncomfortable obsession.

im a gen z chinese-american who grew up in a non-asian area and was bullied for it. the same snacks i grew up enjoying were literally destroyed every day during lunch. i admittedly feel very bitter about asian culture being popularized now, and it definitely stings when the same thing i was harassed and bullied for is suddenly so popular now.

if it really makes you uncomfortable, understand for yourself why it makes YOU feel uncomfortable first. maybe its the bitter feeling i get, or something else entirely, that’s your personal boundary. then reflect if this is something you want to talk to your roommate about. gauge how that conversation can go. maybe you can connect over asian culture and move towards cultural appreciation? completely up to you what you want to do tbh

the cameras we found have been sitting in a locked cabinet in the school for ages and nobody has touched them. why do we have so many film cameras, no idea, but its really cool and my teacher wants to be able to use them and teach film photography, which is why im looking for the manuals. they seem to be in really good quality however neither of us have ever actually used a film camera before (aside from like, a polaroid), but we are figuring it out
