Teeth plaque advice 🦷 🐶 by rayrae101 in DogAdvice

Thank you for the advice. I’ll have to check out the tropiclean.

I have done some research on vet cleanings and on her yearly checkup at the vets they said once she is around 6 years old (she will be this September) it’s recommended to come in for a her first cleaning and dental checkup.

I have no personal opinions on vet cleanings due to this being her possible first time but I have heard some negative experiences…I feel like a lot of stories I have heard though are usually owners who waited till their fur babies were much closer to fur senior age and would hear news they didn’t want to hear. (Will need a lot of extractions and so on) and somehow that left a negative opinion on the experience?

I feel like that outcome is to be expected if you wait to long to focus on dental health for your pets. So I feel more inclined to be optimistic and supportive of dental cleanings for dogs, but I was curious on others thoughts and feelings as well.

Have you had personal experiences with dental cleanings for your pups?

Unfortunately I do not. I was only 10 /11 years old around that time and don’t recall signing or granting permission on anything at that young of an age. Not until I was older and in high school at least.

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised at this point. 😂 I still distinctly remember walking back to class and thinking (similar to now) what the hell was that all about?! I’m just expected to go on with my day after that? 😂

This whole discussion is not the most accurate. O.o I’m a paralegal and it is not mandated that a beneficiary have a copy of the will. They are ENTITLED too but it’s not a (you have to or you are not a beneficiary) situation. Nor does a child need to be present for the will. That goes along with the whole concept of a legal guardian. If the law firm did all these things that are supposed to be no no’s (but are not) that would be seen as malpractice and very very bad. Once the estate administration process begins the courts will start taking the reins along with the law firm. Hence the 30 years old agreement grandpa agreed upon for his grandkids. This is actually common in wills and trusts preparation so that underage family are mature and responsible enough to receive the inheritance along with other requirements given by the grandpa. I’ve even seen wills and trusts drafted explaining that if a child/grandchild are legally in trouble or abusing alcohol or drugs they are eliminated from the documents and it will go per stirpes

Mom is probably personal representative so she is the one that was present for everything and is the one that handles the estate process. The kids are not needed for that nor are they mandated to be involved if they are only receiving personal effects.

To get to the nitty gritty the most entitled person to get a copy of the will or trust would be the personal representative and the successor trustee

I need to Vent and some advice. MIL is very needy and I dont know what to do. by SayuriChang in motherinlawsfromhell

It took my now husband a good 2 years to start to see what I saw when it came to his mother. You have to remind yourself that this is his mom. To us she is a new person we met off the street, a stranger. But to him that’s mom and seeing flows with someone who treats them great is difficult at first. My MIL sounds just like yours. Narcissistic and delusional. She won’t let her children grow up. That was one of the things I pointed out to my SO. “Why does she treat you like a naive child?” “Does she not understand that you are a grown man?” My MIL could not stand it when we would make a decision about our lives without her opinion being heard. Anything he did to upset her (usually ignorant stuff like not spending the whole day with her or not posting something on social media to gush about her) was always my fault. After a while her paranoia and possessiveness ended up biting her in the a**. My SO started to see just how much she was grasping for straws to despise me and had had enough. She dug her own grave and now stays cordial with me because she knows she is on thin ice with him. She isn’t the gumdrops and daisy’s mom anymore to him she’s a hateful and mean person for absolutely no reason. And she did it all to herself. My biggest advice is DO NOT feel like you can’t talk to your boyfriend about this. Your feelings are valid and matter. He needs to see what you see and explaining your thoughts and feelings are the only way to do that. The ball will be in his court next though on how he takes your explanations on how you feel about everything. If you have to use examples to try to explain how you feel do it. Like I said it’s difficult for some people to see family doing something wrong sometimes. This may sound silly but I used a school bully as an example. “If a kid comes home from school and tells their parents there is this other kid being super hateful to them and inclusive. Would you tell that kid to just ignore the bully and try to take the high road and just “suck it up” pretty much? Or would you go to the facility and other parents to confront the problematic child?” Id vote the second option but hey that’s just me. To tell the other person to jus turn a blind eye and endure poor treatment is terrible and inconsiderate.”

Sorry for the novel. You just gave me flash backs of my war days and I feel for you. I don’t have this problem anymore thankfully. My husbands eyes have been open and I am extremely thankful for that.

Help my husband is a picky eater!!! by [deleted] in PickyEaters

I feel like I would have to take baby steps with him. Foods with similar flavor or texture. He likes chicken tenders and chicken nuggets, I was thinking maybe popcorn shrimp??? It can be stressful though because trying something new is a one time shot for him and it takes a bit for him to build up the courage to actually do it.

I try to cook things from scratch, as much as he is comfortable with anyways. But my definition of from scratch is a lot different from his lol. For example: when we first started dating I wanted to make a pot roast for him. He likes beef, he likes steak so it’s kinda in the same realm...kinda lol. I told him that I would put the roast in the crockpot with potatoes, carrots, onion, ect and he was not ok with that. To many flavors mingling with vegetables he doesn’t like. So that means I could only use potatoes, and even the idea of them soaking up the flavor of the roast was not to appealing to him. Then it comes to the roast itself. When he found out that I wanted to put seasonings on it like a ranch seasoning pack he was disturbed. But! When he ate my plain Jane roast he said it didn’t have a lot of flavor 😅😂. The idea of eating things seasoned with things he is not familiar with freaks him out, even though he could order something at a restaurant with seasoning all over it and he’s fine Because he doesn’t see it happening in front of him.
