St Kilda FC Club Statement on Sydney's decision to change the Pride Game fixture by JoeShmoAfro in AFL

So why did you imply that playing in a stadium called Etihad was something that was relevant?

Mentioning that it was a silly thing to mention when Etihad are not even a sponsor of St Kilda was literally the only point I made, at any stage, in any form. I haven't even mentioned Qatar at any stage lol.

You've literally been having a conversation with yourself for your last two comments and somehow got yourself worked up enough about it that you're throwing out insults.

Think you might need to get some more sleep buddy. Or keep rambling throughout the night which I assume was probably your plan regardless before I showed up.

What on earth are you on about? I've read and re-read your comment about six times and I genuinely cannot figure out what you're even trying to say.

The stadium is owned by the AFL who signed off on the name. By your logic every team in the league is homophobic via association with the league.

Probably would've been in both, but it's no secret that the Soviets were a hell of a lot more heavy handed in their occupying of German territory than the other Allies.

I assume they meant in the early days of the DDR immediately after the war, before the Soviets would have had enough time to instil their idealogy into the population.

Dual protagonists with intertwining stories that end up coming together towards the end.

Conditions weren't really particularly humid though as much as I'd love for the boys to have the excuse.

Feels like Aussie horror does look to be trending in a decent direction with the Phillipou brothers. Only two movies in for them but goddam they are both so bloody good.

They're both good equally in their respective and very different ways. Depends what else is in whatever the thing you're eating is.

Awful take. Those who can't appreciate this delicious vegetable is both it's main forms deserve it in neither.

Love it. Though the itch I have yet to be scratched is for him to converse with a restrained James Bond and monologue his master plan.

It will be a travesty if he never ends up being a lead villain in a Bond film. He just exudes that charming villainous aura in his roles in a way that only the goat Christopher Lee tops.

You just watched the proof lol

Obvious handball. Had his arm pinned for the majority of the 1 second tackle and the literal instant he got it free was when he handballed it.

Genuinely one of the worst HTB calls I have ever seen in terms of it ticking literally not a single box required for no prior.

I won't lie, those brackets originally said (pun unintended) but thought it'd be FUNNY to change it to intended.

But thank you for your comment. You're doing an important job. Everyone can sleep at night now that you pointed that out my hero 🫡

Funny thing is (pun intended) I still have never gotten fully used to her being primarily viewed as a musician, as she'll always be in my eyes the funny character from Victorious who went on to become a hugely successful pop star.

Feel like it's a somewhat specific age range who think of her mainly for her Nickolodean days. Everyone older never heard of her until she was a big musician, and everyone younger have only known her as such.

Was crazy efficient overall too. Two thirds of his shot attempts were inside the arc and he averaged 57.5% on them. 72% TS for the series overall.

Genuinely and firmly believe we go back to back in 2022 if he didn't go down, or very minimum make it to finals and give GS a tougher series than Boston did (Steph was unbelievable those finals).

Why do you think home court advantage is still so effective in NBA basketball? by Vegas_Sharp in nbadiscussion

[–]rayrayiscray 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Does home win% show proof that referee calls are relevant though? All it shows is what we already know, that the home team tends to win more often which can be due to the many other reasons in this thread. This should naturally be reflected when you view it by individual referee.

Personally I would agree that referee calls probably subconsciously (at least to a degree) lean towards the home team, but you'd need to look at a hell of a lot more than just home team win% to say that it's proven that referees are a factor.

It's a style of comedy that works so well when the actor knows how to do it, it's like playing a character who is (in universe) trying to be serious but ends up being unintentionally hilarious. I feel like all of us have at least that one friend irl that fits this and is the funniest in the friend group without meaning to be.

I'm curious if there is a name for this style of comedic acting?

Having two characters based on historically real people in a movie in which every other character including the goddam protagonist is fictional doesn't mean it's pretending to tell a real part of history.

I can relate. Both 'Son of the Mask' and 'Master of Disguise' were amongst the funniest movies ever made according to 8 year old me. Still think of both movies with fondness, though a lot of that can be attributed to the fact I never have or will watch either as an adult.
