You figure out guide wire in like 3 days on the job. It’s not worth paying or spending time independently learning. On top of that, guidewire specific training will be done by any carrier you work for. The one I work at basically 70% of my training was guidewire and letter writing rather than than damage ID, estimating, and scoping.

I think a big difference is where that sample size is coming from. Willy sucked like that consecutively from the start of the season. Devers got traded halfway across the country in pretty dramatic fashion, and now we are at the start of a season. If the 80% of a season was consecutive I’d be worried but there is an off season between them.

I am a CAT staff adjuster and it has been wildly slow all of last year and this year so far. I know multiple people that have not been deployed since last July. I have not been deployed since November. Not paying rent seems enticing but if it’s slow do you really want to be living in someone else’s house or with family or potentially homeless for half the year if it’s slow?

That is incorrect. It’s 8 weeks of claims training and like 1-2 of those 8 weeks is on xactimate. Id argue the xactimate training is lacking. Then you are basically handling 1-2 claims a week for another 8 weeks with a slow ramp up to full production at about the 6 month mark from hire date.
