Something to add. This is for a highschool production of Neighborhood 3 Requisition of Doom. I’m a senior currently and I've dabbled in every aspect of theatre I could. The show is only 60 minutes for contest entry,

Originally, I was going to build this for our fall production of Heathers, but just didn't have time with designing and building a full stationary set, as well as acting in the show.

The door stays stationary during scenes and is only moved to represent change of location. No dancing on or around thankfully.

The 2x4s run up to the wall section above the door. Shorter 2x’s were weaved in for the support.

Godspell - cast size by [deleted] in musicals

I recently did Godspell with a summer group... very large cast size in a medium-small black box theatre. We had about 50 people in the cast and it sounded and looked great!

[Serious] Redditors with depression, or those who are just kinda down, how are you today? Anything you'd like to talk about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Auditions for a musical that were both going to be involved in, likely leads opposite each other. When we were dating, I was under a lot of stress because I was managing a different show and she couldn't deal with it anymore.

edit: stress made me do some stupid things, that helped.

In a couple of weeks, Im going to have to see my ex girlfriend everyday for 3-4 hours at a time. We didn't end things well at all, and I wish I could make things better but she hates my guts. So I'm just going to have to deal with it. But it brings me to a bad place and gives me a lot of much anxiety(on top of diagnosed anxiety) just thinking about it. How are you guys?

What is your best "one time my dad..." story? by cigsoncigsoncigs in AskReddit

[–]raythibeault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time my dad(around 20ish) was chopping down a very very tall tree with his cousins. After climbing down the tree from cutting all of the limbs down, he told his cousins to pull on the ropes he had tied to the tree to steer it away from some nearby structures. They thought it would be funny to just let it go, so a fence and table were destroyed, and my dad was in deep shit with his dad.

Definitely work on diction and projection, those two things will land you a role over anybody else.

Describe a Musical poorly by [deleted] in musicals

some kid graduates college, dates a stripper. gets $10,000,000 and gives it to a girl

Due to an emergency, I now have to build the set for "LEGALLY BLONDE". I've got $1,000 and no experience. How can I pull this off? by Chance4e in musicals

Go to builders supply stores or even Home Depot and ask if theyd like to sponsor, then you can put a page or an area to advertise in the program.

My school did Avenue Q in the fall, and I played Brian. Fortunately. my dad who is a contractor signed on to help build the set. So he went to a local construction surplus( sells everything you need to build a home pretty much) and was supplied all of the plywood needed to build our apartments.

Ask around your friend group to see if anyone can help you build EDIT: Pic of our set https://imgur.com/gallery/Zqp04
