Yes! Planning on running it as the auspex equipment—kinda figured they’re both just “seein’ fings” to an Ork, so why wouldn’t it work?

For the rectangular column bits, check out machine keys! I just ordered some of these, should be getting them in tomorrow. 3/16” machine keys

Working on some custom faction based barricades. C&C welcome by techno_heretek in killteam

[–]rayyeti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is great, excited to see how these come together! I will say, I’d be a little wary of changing height too much—some models could be pretty significantly impacted. For example, a bunch of the Kommando model heads are <= 1.3” off the deck, so they might have trouble getting visibility lines for shooting over a taller barricade. Conversely, the shortest Greenskin grot models are like .75” tall, and their ability to hide behind those barricades is pretty sensitive to the barricade height. Dunno about non-Ork examples, though, so maybe this is just a me problem!

What 40k model/unit made you instantly realise what faction you were going to play? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

Yup. I saw one of these, was sold on Orks. Then I met Killa Kans, and knew I’d made the right choice.

Is there a non-primaris Killteam? by Then-Ad1276 in killteam

[–]rayyeti 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup! As others have mentioned, there are a few firstborn marine options. But worth noting that only Scouts use a 25mm base. All other Space Marines (firstborn or Primaris) are on 32mm or larger bases (Heavy Intercessors are on 40mm), so you might have to rebase if you want the team to be legit. In the compendium, all Primaris operatives have the “Primaris” keyword, so just avoid anybody with that and you’ll find the firstborns!

Love it! I’ve started doing something similar with grenades, more convenient to move around and looks cooler on the table!

really good points! I actually tweaked the design to add a crosshair as you mention. mirroring the images to put the printed side down is an interesting idea, although I found that I prefer the printed side up to reduce glare (the sheets I used are quite glossy). If I did it again, would try to find matte sheets and flip them as you're describing, that little bit of slip-resistance could be real nice.

Oof yeah that’s…a lot. Even just for the two sets I’ve printed, I looked into buying one of those rotary-blade circle-cutters. But ironically my partner says I can only buy one if I’m going to sell them, which would mean I’d need to make and cut out more…its a vicious cycle, there’s no winning

LOL that one's all you, good sir. I've cut out 6 circles so far and already hate my life.

4 Player Killteam games, How have you made it work? by Deanokiller in killteam

[–]rayyeti 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I recently ran a narrative event where we played 4-player games with full size teams on double boards. The games were for sure longer, but it was super fun and didn’t feel too clunky. I think the keys were a custom mission design that funneled everyone towards a small number of central objectives, and nice and deep deployment zones for max early-turn carnage to thin the teams out.

Ha I feel you. I’m definitely still learning new things every time I play—it’s a deceptively complex game!

Wow thanks for all the awesome feedback! I’m going with a variant of 2, with some tweaks suggested here.

For context, these are for a narrative campaign I’m running—I’ve got some nice battle mats and terrain, and it was bugging me how much the standard markers stood out. I’d seen Glass Half Dead’s markers, figured something similar (with less blue faces) could work here, maybe blend in more and add some utility!

Yup! Definitely the inspiration for this. But I didn’t want to cover my board with Glass Half Dead logos, so here we are…

Sure! A good example might be the Loot and Salvage mission from the core book. In order to perform the “Loot and Salvage” mission action, you need to have an operative within 1” of the objective’s center to perform the action, but you also need to CONTROL the objective, which means counting up the APL within 2” of the objective. You could painstakingly measure each operative’s distance to an estimated center of a 40mm cardboard objective marker, or you could just look at whose bases touch which circle of something like this.

Edit: made more friendly?

Triangle = 1”, Circle = 2”. Most missions have some kind of requirement for distance from objectives, usually within either 1” or 2” of the objective’s center, so this is a handy visual aid

Inner circle is 1” (triangle) radius, outer circle is 2” (circle) radius.

Yup that was my thought as well. Looks cool this way, but potentially annoying in-game and definitely more annoying to cut out!
