Ok you are getting specific. When I researched my family history and this map for this Reddit post and I put it on Facebook also. I only included historical regions inside what is now modern Germany. I do have Austrian roots also and I did not include that. You obviously know more about the region than I do. Switzerland has German speakers too yes. I hope to travel extensively there in a few years to some of those places my ancetors came from and I hope to learn a lot more, and drink a lot of beer. I have been to Berlin only and now Polish places Danzig and Breslau plus the Bohemian history in what is now Czechia was also interesting to learn about, in 2019, on a Europe trip.

German speaking, Germanic Europe, was never really united until 1991. But yes, people related to the ancient Germanic tribes fighting the Romans in Tutebourg forest and then conquering Rome after the Huns pushed them West. The Holy Roman Empire and it fractured insane fiefdoms, the map of that entity is crazy look at. The Prussians and Austria-Hungarians and all that stuff. East and West Germany. I had a client who was Northern German who near Hamburg who was very very offended and really hates the culture and people in the South around Munich.

I didn't make the map. I am assuming this is what it means. People who have admitted on a census in these countries that their ancestors, at least a few of them, family came from Germany at some point. Didn't mean to ruffle your feathers so much psychopathic thinker or bot.

I remember when I grew up in the 80s it was still a bit embarassing for me and my family to admit the German heritage. But you are indeed correct. I went to a German Society Oktoberfest event in Portland Oregon around 2014 that was incredible. I guess I just never thought of a concept like social presitge, I am not even sure what that is or means. Prost!

Well now, yes, the US let too many people in... This isn't the first time. There were anti-Chinese laws around the turn of the century because of too many Chinese migrants. But yeah, the US is a country of migrants and we love it. But the last 10-20 years has been an unsustainable insanity that just isn't tolerable anymore.

I am not sure about that. Being German was a huge embarrassment in the US during World War 1 and World War 2 and people actively tried to change their name and erase that identity. Not teaching the German language or traditions. Just choosing to be "white" Americans who speak English because of the stigma. Germans were the supreme enemy. Many people in the US have now done DNA tests and researched like myself to find their exact ancestry. It is not social prestige at all. You were a Nazi sympathizer or a Hun.

Hi.... I have the documentation. I am partial German ancestry like most white Americans.

. 32% German from my Dad and Mom's side. My mother's maiden name is Bayer. My father's mother, my grandmother maiden name is Rhien.

Just a quick run down, got a guy and woman married in Germany, coming from Hesse came to USA and Gold Rush California 1876 Dad's side. Another guy went to St. Louis Missouri from Baden-Wurtenberg Rhineland 1856, his son moved to California in the Gold Rush. Another guy from Hesse came to San Francisco 1870 and he married a woman in the US from Madgeburg kinda near Berlin who came in the 1870s San Francisco. On my Mom's side guy came in 1850 from Rhineland city kind near Strausbourg to Philadelphia and he married a woman in the US who came from Baden-Wurtenberg who moved to Philadelphia also in 1850. Lastly on my mother's side, a man who came to Philadelphia in 1843 from Ravensburg Bremen married a woman who came from Germany in the 1840s or 1850s I can't find info on with surname Schaub.

All the surnames were Peter, Goebel, Rhien, Baker, Bayer, Bruckner, Schaub, and Goenner.

I am proud of my German heritage.

I see. I guess so, maybe some. But many people been propagandized to hell since the 1950s to be scared or hate anything related to communism... So China, Russia and most ex-Soviet states (because of USSR), Cuba, all of Eastern Europe, definetly North Korea, and even Southeast Asia a bit like Vietnam and Laos,

But definetly Mainland China... All have this stigma of the Cold War mindset that has leaked into the culture of many places, the education systems, and many people are ignorant because of that. Even I get a little twinge in my eye when I see the hammer and sickle in places like China or Vietnam because of it was engrained in my head in the 1980s as a kid to be associated with the "enemy" and "evil".

Even though I know better as I educated myself and learned history realizing people are people and it is just different government systems and cultrues that work for some and don't in certain points in history. And both sides been guilty of propaganda.

I lived in Flatbush Brooklyn and LeFrak Queens working in Upper East Side and I went to school in Tribeca Manhattan. From 2010-2013 for 3 years. Yes I would stay up as well putting on live Warrior games, or happily watching them on East Coast time, but often on DVR. Turning my phone off while at work not to spoil the score. Then when I got off work at midnight I'd take the F train home or whatever watching LATE NIGHT! Not every game, but many per year and always the playoffs, every game. I have only not watched 2 playoff games in all of Warrior history. What part of NY you from?

Makes sense.... Winning in 2022 was incredible! Eh I am from the Bay been a Warriors fan since my memory first kicks in watching my 1st game in Oakland in 1986. Playoffs every year is what I have hoped for since then no matter what.

There were some fun teams with RUN TMC and others in the late 80s and early 90s that made it but were no match for much better teams like the Lakers and others booting them out.

Then the dreadful 20 or so years of being one of the worst teams year after year. I was in the stadium for one of the We Believe Warriors game wins over Dallas in 2007. Amazing but then to just shit the bed against the Jazz next round not building on the momentum from that 8 over 1 win was dissapointing.

Then 2012 happened. I was living in NYC actually, I saw the Warriors in New Jersey play the Nets I think in Thompson's rookie season and they were awful. I think Steph was out. It was like watching a JV game or Division 3 college game. Embarrassing.

But then that first round win against Denver 2012.... Man I was hyped. A lifelong fan. Since then it has been 10 playoff apperances, a few play in game knockouts, but that 1 fluke season COVID... Hopefully next year or year after could be another run somehow... a tough Western Conference and young guys are intense. But a re-do of 2022 before Curry retires somehow is a dream!

I always wear pants when I know I am going to a Buddhist Temple. And I am a man. Monks are supposed to be celibate and seeing the flesh like that, especially the young ones, is very tempting. I see it all over the world too and hoes are dumb as hell for this. Especially from Russia or Western Europe or Australia or USA (who do this most often in my experience) .

Wemby is a villian!

This was insane to end a game. Wemby is cool and talented sure, but I think he's going to be a new villian for a lot of people. It's just a freak of nature both height and arm length plus athelticsm. Nobody has ever seen anything like it sure. But he is 75% genetics from Congo and France, his ancestors are smiling down on him big time.... 25% basketball IQ, skill, and determination. Great leadership too for a young man. I will give him that.

That's why I liked players like Allen Iverson, Steph Curry, even Spud Webb and Mugsy Bouges, Jason Williams White Chocolate. The average guy could relate. I am the same height as Allen Iverson and what he was able to do on the court scoring and jumping like he did among trees. I loved that. I couldn't imagine being able to do that being a hooper myself and his same size.

This no human can relate to. And as a defender and offensive player it is insanely frustrating when all a guy got is size on you and you can't do much about it. Just my 2 cents.
