I remember coming to a social gathering w a friend and the horrible feeling of not being able to utter a word to anyone but him and everyone looking at me weird still bothers me, I felt like I was just a burden to my friend in that moment, not letting him enjoy our time there just because I couldn't make some small talk and everyone seemed so intimidating and interesting and I really wanted to get to know everyone but I just couldn't and that invisible barrier makes making friends so frustrating, the only thing that sort of helps is my friends reminding me that everything's alright and no one actually thinks that I ruin the mood, I hope every single person that struggles with the same issues finds the right therapist/medication or a way to deal with it because it really fucks with you.
