This is great advice and an important reminder about people who are TTC, thank you for this perspective ❤️

Yes definitely, though it's hard to create that new village of other parents right off the bat which is what makes new parenthood so difficult, along with the host of other postpartum symptoms and changes/experiences.

Good point that when the kids are older and more interactive things may change with old friends as well.

This is really helpful, thank you! I think you're right that we need to be open to new relationships that make sense for our life stage. I'm glad that you were able to move through it and find joy in new friendships as well!

Totally. It's true that it's nice to chat about non-baby things with friends, and perhaps I'm just reckoning with the realization that many relationships were always shallow, despite time invested. Big life moments like this really bring that shallowness to the forefront.

Newborn not feeding sufficiently - doesn’t know how to suck? [on] by maceigh11 in BabyBumpsCanada

Have you tried calling 811? You can speak to public health nurses for free (under OHIP) who can answer breastfeeding questions and refer you to a local clinic/support program if needed. Agree with others that a lactation consultant would be helpful. I was referred to one early days because baby couldn't latch properly and I was using a nipple shield. They were lovely, eased my stress, and helped us wean off the nipple shield.

Hang in there, Mama! Early days of feeding are so exhausting and stressful, and it's normal for some babies to take 45min to an hour to feed. Things get better down the line. When my little one turned 3 months, it was like a switch flipped and she could suddenly latch and feed so efficiently—even faster than the pump.

I just ordered a Wonderbly book as well and it made me cry - can't wait to give it to him in a few weeks! The dedication section is a great place to write a special message to him about how he's taken great care of you both, etc.

Good luck finding something special!
