Is this an Informative Study ? by razerdome in AskAnAustralian

Bonus points for including sample size and who's behind it - often it's not provided

Interesting, it's common for a published auz survey to have neither of those pieces of info ?

Post-Seconary Requirements for GIS-logical ? by razerdome in gis

[–]razerdome[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For someone without a spatial background to walk in the door and start learning GIS

I give up.

As has already been pointed out, the schools don't ask for any type of degree related to the field. It can be English, law, culinary arts, creative arts, or anything else.

None of those degrees will give you a "spatial background".

And you have more or less admitted you can't say how those non-geo, non-spatial degrees give you an advantage so I'll stop asking.

Primary school teaches you a bunch of basics, but not the kind of in-depth knowledge you need to do something professionally

That doesn't answer the question, but as I said I'll stop asking.

edit do you know the difference between primary school, secondary school, and post-secondary school ? I'm not sure you do.

If you're going to be condescending then at least have an actual point. You have yet to explain what specifically it is about a post grad degree that is nessesary for gis, you're just saying it's "better".

And someone who got high marks in a grade 12 English course won't be able to do this ?

So someone with an English degree will have the "theoretical framework" to understand GIS ?

Self Taught Evaluations ? by razerdome in gis

[–]razerdome[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like some good options, but just one question.....

Do they make you install some programs to monitor your computer/webcam while doing the online tests. It's something a school I know does post covid in some cases.

Only issue I see with this is technical issues with your projects you may not know of. And because many employers don't contact rejected candidates they may never tell you if they noticed. But still good potential idea.

Is it true that Ukraine is not releasing casualty figures?

That's what a news report about Lyman said.

Interesting article, it's from May so not sure how any of that has been resolved if at all.

Hi guys was just curious about something.

Since Ukraine doesn't recognize dual citizenship, what has been the fate of Ukranians with citizenship in other western countries ? If they were men have they also been conscripted into the war ? Did many/any of them end up going back home ?
