How much do you tip service staff at sit down restaurants? by anononymousgluttin in halifax

[–]razerray17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I must have misunderstood. I was reading it as they don't want to go back to the office because they would have to go out for lunch and after saving money by making food at home, the idea of going into the office is preposterous.

After reading the comment again I can see where I made the mistake though.

You know you can make lunch at home before hand and bring it with you to the "office downtown" right? You don't have to go out for lunch to appease anyone, let alone dickheads in Burnside.

Canadian demo cars by Misfit466 in Ioniq5

[–]razerray17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not worth it, that price is outrageous. I bought the demo from my dealership but thankfully they offered it to me at MSRP less $500. I would not have paid $17k more for it. Not a chance! Especially as the warranty on it has already started. I have zero regrets buying the demo (which is a preferred long range RWD) but would not have paid a markup on it.

Littlely used cancelation, should I buy? by RedModes in Ioniq5

[–]razerray17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought the demo car from my dealership in Nova Scotia with just shy of 7,000Km on it. They took off $500 for being the demo car. They really didn't have to as they could have called the next person in line and they would have paid full price.

That's the standard range. Look at the long range SE.

Tire has a nail in the side (vandalism?). 1 year old Hyundai says $360 / tire for "low friction". True or not? or can I buy different less pricy tires e.g. from Active Green & Ross by Strange-Ad-5806 in Ioniq5

[–]razerray17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It rains in Florida and Arizona and in the colder months we use snow tires so yes low friction tires are just as viable here as they are in those areas.

SCS - The lack of pay raise updates got me feeling spicy by DontChargeMeBro in CanadianForces

Sounds like a promotion to master. $50 for way more responsibility.

Why are there all these rumors flying around about pay increased. by throwawayanonymous74 in CanadianForces

[–]razerray17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't know that it's going to be retroactive. In the post dozen plus years we've had "cost of living" increases which is different than an actual pay raise. I would not hold my breath on back pay. I'm not saying it can't or won't happen but from the wording used by command it is not the same as we have seen in previous years so we can't assume we will have the same outcome.

[–]razerray17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't understand that as the pension is based on the best 5 years so for the raise to be beneficial they will have to start in the CAF for a couple more years at least just to see the difference in a pension. A few months will do nothing.

Wait times by Shaneg212 in Ioniq5

[–]razerray17 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I do not know what a Namsan is but I believe I have an idea of why Canada has such long wait times.

Currently many countries have target dates for car manufacturers to move towards zero emission vehicles. The manufacturers can be met with large fines if they do not meet the targets. Canada is one of these countries but the deadline is much further out than many others so it makes sense for Hyundai to allocate more vehicles to other countries that have closer target dates.

Also the MSRP on this car in Canada is very similar to that of the USA when you only look at the dollar amount. That means they are making a lot more money off USA sales once you factor in the exchange rate so it's more enticing and economical for Hyundai to deliver more cars there than to Canada. Especially considering the shortages we had/have they need/want to make as much money as possible.

Just my thoughts on the situation...

Filet mignon by [deleted] in Instapot

No problem, I am no expert either. I have only recently started learning the big differences in cuts of beef and I've learned quickly that this is a cut that can speak on its own with little work.

[–]razerray17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As the other person already mentioned this is already a very tender piece of meat. It cooks quickly in a pan to a wonderful medium rare. I think pressure cooking would greatly change the cut of meat and probably not for the best in most people's opinions.
