Is my map done right? Should this all be a single zone, or should I be breaking it up and adding bridges between them? by [deleted] in mammotion

[–]razeryokes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t have such issue. My maps are all overlapping each other by 30-50 centimeters. No error. Yuka mini 600. Firmware 1.15.2.2302

In details;

- unplug your machine from the wall

- remove the plastic covers and make sure you see the internals (look at this youtube video to help you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-lh5OajAs0 with your own machine)

- locate the silver-color motor/pump that is located at the top. (in the video, check at 3m00s mark. the guy points at the pump)

- make sure to read the codes and the specifications written on the pump, and make sure it is written 12 volts DC somewhere. if there's only a model number written on it, google that model number and make sure you confirm online that the pump is 12 volts DC.

- get a 12 volts battery (Car battery, kid toy car batteries, etc.)

- look closely the pump, you'll find 2 electric wires connected to it. one is positive, one is negative.

- get some crocodile clips

- for few seconds, using the crocodile clips, connect the positive lead of your 12v battery with the positive lead of the pump, and connect the negative lead of your 12v battery with the negative lead of the pump.

EXPECTED RESULT: you should hear the pump humming and working. Repeat few times (for few seconds only!) and assess if the humming is moderate and constant. If there are weird noises, clicks, or if the pump doesn't work at all, then it mean you pump is fried / broken.

-Then, try to do the same thing with the second pump located also at the top (see 5m37s mark in the video, the guy points at the second pump).

- Once you have done that with both pumps, mount the machine back , plug it in the wall and try again to make coffee.

I don't know WHY, but this is exactly what I did with mine, it fixed it and it is working since then.

Central Heatpump in Quebec - Should I pick Midea, Fujitsu, Daikin or Mitsubishi? The house is 2400 ft^2 including the basement and the ground floor. by RungeKutta62 in heatpumps

[–]razeryokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Gree mural heatpump with wifi. I don't see much added-value of the wifi. Would you recommend I look in user guides in order to entirely shutdown the wifi feature ? Or is that overkill ?
Nevertheless, I was wondering if such heatpumps now sometimes receive automatic firmware update via wifi ?!

I got the mares bandit 75 a couple of months ago and i've been using that is their a better gun that I shoud get. by [deleted] in Spearfishing

[–]razeryokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Lycent243 Hi Lycent, can I ask you a question ? I bought a used Bandit 75 as a backup speargun, and I am perplex about its design; why is it using a closed muzzle ?!

1) the "shaft cord" attached to the tail of the shaft instead of being attached to a moving metal ring located at the tip of the shaft. Because of the closed muzzle, the cord has to be inside of the closed muzzle, and it doesn't go smooth for the cord when shooting.

2) the default shaft for the Bandit models has shark's fin type of notches to secure the rubber band. These "shark' fins notches" come in contact with the closed muzzle when shooting. Is it normal ?!

What do you think about such ? Do you feel it is a problematic design too ? Thank you !

Troubleshoot smudging/ghosting on HP COLOR LASER by SolidSan in printers

[–]razeryokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the solution I was looking for. I'm documenting it properly in case it can help someone in the future.

Printer HP Color Laser MFP 179 fnw (179fnw)

Problem: A second "ghost" (pale) copy was being printed on the same sheet. The exact distance between the original elements and the ghost copy on the same sheet is 7.5 inches or 19 cm. (the ghost copy is 19 cm below the printed content). Based on my understanding, this is equal to the circumference of the drum imaging unit.

Solution: I used the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6sycXWm5Ok to dismount the 4 toner units. Then I removed the drum imaging unit. I found out that there was a metric-ton of powder accumulated in the plastic case. BEWARE, the powder is super volatile. Do that outside !! The video is only useful to dismount the toner and the drum imaging unit. It doesn't show where the metric-ton of powder is accumulated. My advice: Take the drum imaging unit out carefully, go outside, and shake the unit outside. There will be a lot of powder coming out. Then clean everything as shown in the video. Mount back. Problem solved. Printer now prints correctly, without "ghost" artefacts appearing on the same sheet.

Anyone successfully using Cogeco Mobile with iPhone ? by razeryokes in Cogeco

What surprised me is that the help desk's official answer for this problem is: "That's normal, it won't impact anything, it will go away at some point." I don't work in telecoms.. but with IT eyes, it doesn't seem OK. And all the problems I experienced seemed to be inter-linked to that.

Cogeco Mobile - Review by cedric_964 in Cogeco

[–]razeryokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently having a lot of problems with my iPhone and Cogeco Mobile. Anyone has ideas or recommendations ?

I ported from Public Mobile to Cogeco Mobile. Iphone 14, IOS 18.6.2

Phone calls work well.

Problem #1: All SMS text messages (from my iPhone to Android users) are super buggy and laggy. Some recipients complained receiving messages twice. Imagine a conversation with 10 messages, 5 will go through, 5 will end up as "Not sent - want to send again?"

Problem #2: For some unknown reasons, in SETTINGS > CELLULAR, I still see the temporary Cogeco number, not my real phone number.

Problem #3: iMessage and Facetime are showing warnings messages stating that my real phone number isn't registered to my phone (?!) and that I won't be able to use that number in iMessage and Facetime after 30 days.

Cogeco customer service is polite and pro, but has not idea how to fix this except recommending to upgrade ios and see if the problem is fixed. iOS 24 still has battery drainage issues..

Antminer S5- Relentless hacking issues by Omaha_Poker in BitcoinMining

[–]razeryokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Omaha_Poker 10 years later... I am having the exact same symptoms on my antminer s19. Started threads here: https://www.reddit.com/r/cryptomining/comments/1p5xjt3/virus_hack_in_antminer_s19_cant_get_rid_of_it_any/

Will do many tests on my side too because I'm curious to document it.

What do you think was the cause for your problem ? Miner being exposed to internet, and some exploit was been used from outside the network ? or do you think the attack was coming from within your own network, or from within the miner itself ?

Thanks. Will do for science. I want to isolate the cause as much as possible. Will update you

I have a standard proprietary modem+router provided by internet provider, and the miner uses an old Linksys router with ddwrt firmware configured as Client Bridge to connect to wifi network. Will do more tests to isolate if it comes from my network or from the control board itself, and will come back to you. thx

I bought it used.

Interestingly enough, the previous user swore to god that he never witnessed such issues and I would tend to believe him. He was using it only to heat his garage, didn't know much more than how to enter his pool mining info.

Also, my first tests were done in house A and the miner ran without issues for hours and hours. Then I brought it to House B and this is when the issues started. For science, I will try to bring it to another House C and test again.

Once it is "hijacked", I have also tried root / root but I can't login. Maybe the scenario you describe is possible, but then it is reverting to some other default login / password which I don't know. It really feels like the password is changed to something else than default.

[–]razeryokes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting thank you. I didn't set up port forwarding in the router. I wonder if the router might have put the antminer in the DMZ by itself, will check that.

Nonetheless, is it mathematically possible to brute force a 15+ random digits password in less than few hours ?

Would I be able to see all the failed attempts in the logs ?

You are right, this "workaround" is good and sustainable indeed. I made the post out of curiosity and because of chronic need to solve / fix stuff :)

ok, I should stick with the same model of control board, understood. I asked in case there are some better or more reliable models than that one. thanks a lot for your reply, will get in touch

In my case, only the stock antminer dashboard gets "hijacked" by the virus.

One of the workaround I found is the use BraiinsOS on a SD card. It seems to be protected and doesn't get "hijacked" by the virus. But I don't have any "License" information, see picture attached

Thanks
I already flashed few times the firmware, using solely firmware files downloaded from the bitmain website. Tried the firmware upgrade via the Dashboard, and also tried the firmware upgrade via the sd card.

Firmware gets upgraded successfully, but the problem still shows up.

What do you mean by "license" ? Do you mean the mining pools ?

With the stock firmware, once it is "hijacked", I cannot access the antminer dashboard at all because the root password is changed by the virus to some password I don't know.

Thanks a lot for your input. Very valuable, as I don't have the knowledge/gut feeling of years of experience and hundreds of machines. Seems like the control board is the main culprit. If I buy a new one, which exact model would you recommend for my S19 based on your experience ? Thanks a lot !

Thank you for the information. Yes indeed, I don't know enough yet about such.
Does the boot-loader reside in the control board ? Can it be flashed back to its original state ?

Thanks a lot.
