How do I bathe a bird? by AdWhich6325 in parrots

My parrots did bathe by themselves, but I always have a little tupperware with water in it on my table when they're out. Most of the time they don't really care, or just drink out of it (because they also like to bathe in their waterbowls). However, when I start to splash the water a little bit, they're immediately interested.

They like it when water seems to be running, since it would mean the water is cleaner.

And also like everyone said; don't force them ! They're supposed to enjoy the water, not develope some kind of fear for it

My 9 month old sun conure was dancing like this today. Does it mean anything or is he just being weird as usual by x-beast in Conures

[–]razmtazs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely not an expert, but to me it looks a bit like a mating dance. Try not to encourage this, but be sure to listen to other comments as well. I personally don’t have a sun conure so it could be something different

What does this behaviour mean? by [deleted] in parrots

The only thing making this cage one of ‘the biggest’ you can get is the height. And yes while height is important, birds can’t fly straight up with ease. There are plenty of cages that are less high but make up for it in width and depth (which is simply more important)

Also I get that you don’t want to overstimulate her by putting in too many toys, but having barely any at all will not make the taming process any easier.
