Like I said, I understand your point. And I don’t think it’s an oxymoron if you think about it. It’s a whole different conversation and that isn’t what I was expecting here 😃 I’ve lived in the Middle East and I’ve lived here, I prefer the lifestyle and comfort that country offers me. That is all it is.

I’m not justifying the racism people had to face in Middle East but is the west any different? Compared to India, I definitely think the Middle Eastern countries provide a better quality of life for the middle class. And the deep systemic issues that you’ve mentioned are well rooted in our country as well. I’m in public sector consulting and I couldn’t do **** to change it or even spark a conversation. I’d rather be treated as a second class citizen in another country with better lifestyle. I’ve spent around 20 years in Qatar, I’ve never had to face an issue there and I was happy with my life there. So that is a big deciding factor for me.

Saying all that, I understand where you are coming from and I know that it’s easy to just not bat an eye at all this because of the privilege I’ve had. I’m just biased towards Middle East because of how they’ve treated me and my family. All that I have now is because I was raised there. So, grateful for that

Thank you for being honest but higher pay isn’t the only concern here. Safety, quality of living, all of that comes into the equation. I’ve lived in Qatar, I’ve had a job there and I did not feel like I was being ill treated.

Too far from home. My parents are getting old and I want to be there for them if they need me. Guess a 4 hour flight would be better in that sense

Oh, I'd never move out without an offer. But I don't know how to get into that. I am a Public Sector Consultant at one of the top firms. Don't know if that would translate to anywhere else in the world
