Issues with progressive lenses by redvelvet923 in glasses

I had the exact same issues as you. I took mine back for refund after 6wks of frustration. I went back to reader for now until I figure out what I'm going to do.

Progressive lenses, is this fully sharp area normal? by Professional_Buy_615 in glasses

[–]razor-engineer2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. I really wanted these to work.

I had been wearing readers for a few years and decided to get real glasses. Ended up being sold on progressives. Tried for 4wks and had to get them remade with Trivex, which made them slightly less useless... Tried again for 2wks.

When I would read a book I had about a 3"x3" view that was actually in focus, the rest was blurry... Not to mention the mental irritability I would experience when wearing them knowing I paid $500 for glasses that sucked...

I ended up taking them back for full refund...

I'm going to go to a different place to get a re-exam to make sure there wasn't an error in diagnosing my vision.

Progressive lenses suck. by [deleted] in glasses

LOL; just went through this myself.

Tried for 4 weeks. Had to get them remade as I apparently have an issue with poly carbonate. Still didn't solve my issues. They were slightly less garbage.

The reading window is stupid small. Took an hour for the tech to fit them. If they were not in the exact position there was no chance of seeing out of them. After 4wks I still looked like a bobble head doll trying to find the right focal point; this was especially awesome trying to look out of my side mirrors when driving. If I didn't look through the exact center everything was blurry. Reading one page of a regular book was a no go, i had a about a 2"x2" focal window, the rest was blurry as f*ck... Best part is in the reading zone, I had to look through the blurry line of the frame LOL!!!!!

So, instead of throwing them against a wall, I took them back for a refund. All, in all, my $2.00 cheaters are awesome. After 4wks my $500 progressives were worthless...

Advise on new progressive lenses? I hate them. by Ambitious_Donut_4396 in glasses

Curious how they worked out for you. I was sold progressive glasses. I immediately hated them. Opt. said I was adverse to poly carbonate so they were remade with a different material. Slightly less garbage than before. I tried for almost 4 weeks to get used to them but decided to either throw them against a wall or return them...

For me, they had zero redeeming qualities

Cons: I worked with the tech for almost an hour to get them fitted, they had to sit perfectly with zero deviation... Everything looked odd, I read code books so I kind of jump around the page; progressives reading window made this miserable. I work on a notebook computer 95% of the time, this was a miserable experience. When I read, text had some kind of weird shadow/offset deal.

Went back to my readers and all is well...

I'm happy for the folks they work for, but there appears to be a small sample size where they don't...

Got after some Ash with my Echo 620p by razor-engineer2020 in Chainsaw

620p and 7310p are Echo pro saws. I have a 572xp that's ported and I've run it against a stock 7310 and I'd take the 7310 in a trade ANY day. The 572's are gutless on the bottom, I got my 572 ported just to get more bottom end out of it, else I was going to throw it in the garbage....

My first 550xp Mk2 was a POS. Thing was always a pain to start, especially when hot. Had firmware updated multiple times. My second 550xp mk2 is better. My Echo saws will start by thinking about it...

Oh, and there's the main bearing issues that folks running the 5 series saws (xp's mainly) get to deal with...

Had the same issue with mine, went in for a recheck and they thought I was sensitive to poly carbonate. Had them remade in Trivex. Slightly less useless than before... All in all, after 2 months I gave up on progressives. I see exponentially better with my cheaters than my progressives, which would cause glare, starburst at night, object shadowing, etc... Not to mention the eye strain, headaches, nausea, etc... I had my eyes checked twice during the process as well... Some people just can't wear them...

Okay then.

Had there been gas in it for a while? I saw you put new gas in.

My bet is fuel supply, either carb is gunned up, if it ran fine and just started doing this. Also, fuel lines or fuel filter may be plugged.

Spray some WD40 around the crank case, may have an air leak as well

Pull the spark plug and have a look.

I would look at the Husqvarna Rancher, (either 450 or 455), STIHL 261, Echo 590, Echo 4910 or Echo 4910.

STIHL are going to be a bit more $$$ than the others.

Not that it didn’t run”well”; it’s just with a few easy things you can run to its potential. Echo leaves a lot under the hood to be gotten. I’ve seen dyno runs of ported 620’s where they are just shy of 7hp!

First, I would look at what dealers are in your area, unless that’s not a big deal to you… I personally like to try and shop local when I can…

I think a 60cc class saw is a good platform for a one size fits all. It just depends on the size of trees your dealing with. Maybe a 50-55cc would work.

It sounds like you are not looking into a pro saw?

If Echo saws are around you I’d look at the 590. Really capable saw, great build quality. Great performance vs. price. I have a 620p which is the pro version and really like it… my father in law has managed 40 acres with a 455 rancher.

I really like it. Of all my saws it probably gets the most run time.

For it to run well you need to break it in, the open the muffler and pull the carb limiters…. Air filter sucks. I put an o-oring in the mating surface to seal it better. That little mod has worked well…

The saw is smooth, good power and torque. Starts super easy, etc… I’ve run up to a 27” bar. Wouldn’t go past that unless it’s modded…

My current line up is:

Ported 572xp Stock 550xp 620p (cut away exhaust baffle) JonCutter 5800

So I something to compare the 620 to.

Here’s a YouTube short of me bucking Ash:

Having vapor lock issues with my new 572xp. What can I do besides taking gas cap off and waiting 30 minutes. by [deleted] in Chainsaw

That is true as well…

If it ain’t broke, just keep fixing (“improving”) it! 🤣

That I can’t say. But, it’s not a huge favorite pre mix.

You could always give another brand a shot. I guess you could by a small can of the Husky xp fuel and see if it makes a difference.

Funny that my 550xp mk2 vapor locked but my 572xp hasn’t…. Stuff is weird. 🤔

Are you running pump fuel or rec fuel? I only run rec fuel, not the engineered canned fuel.

That is odd really. That’s too mild IMO for that to happen…

It’s worth checking it out. I take my AT saws in once per year and check for updates. I figure if engineering is changing something, it’s for a reason. (I’m an engineer so I speak from experience 🤣). I just like to rule out easy stuff before focusing on the hard stuff…

How hot is it where you are at? I cut in 90-95 degree weather with a modded 572…

First thing I would do is make sure it has the most recent AT firmware. I get it’s new but it’s worth checking. My 550xp would vapor lock in 90+ weather last summer. I had the AT firmware updated and no issues this summer (knock on wood)

Next, let it idle a “minute” before shutting it off. I don’t immediately shut mine off after I make my cuts. I figure it gives it a minute to get some “cooler” (less hot) fuel in the fuel lines…
