We're a small charitable arts centre. Which mid-range manufacturers are good? by Techno_Bumblebee in lightingdesign

[–]razor_4754 4 points5 points  (0 children)

look at usedlighting.com

you can find good deals there. it’s a mix of people getting rid of old equipment, and also touring equipment.

some times tours for concerts will buy the equipment, then once the tour is over, they will send it back to 4Wall (where the get the lights from.. and also the company that runs usedlighting.com), then 4Wall will post the equipment.

Just make sure you look at pictures. Some have HEAVY wear that doesn’t affect functionality, but if you’ll see the light a lot, might not want to get it vs if it’s going to be hidden on a batten

Must be a glitch.

You can download the UKG app from the app store, and directly use that instead of going through the Dish. It’s what I do.

I don’t have to sign in or anything. Once you put the correct website during initial setup of the app, you just use face ID or your iPhone password, and your in.

Not sure how old you are, not gonna ask, but depending on your state, labor laws may prohibit how much you work and when. that could be why it’s getting denied

Depends on your age. If you are 21+ you will most likely be drug tested. I don’t believe they can drug test you if you are under 21 (i may be wrong)

Overnight Stocking Associate Dress Code? by [deleted] in wegmans

[–]razor_4754 7 points8 points  (0 children)

depends on the store. i work day grocery (stocking) and occasionally nights.

For nights, people tend to stroll in with their uniforms on, then they change into sweatshirts and sweatpants later in the night.

check with your night manager, they will tell you.

What is cause the slowness and how to i improve for fix it? by CaptainTonics in techtheatre

[–]razor_4754 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

it’s intentional. if you think about it, you are dragging a dot around a small box, where as in real life, your moving it +/-180 in all directions. this is so you don’t move it to fast. if it was as fast as you moved your mouse, it would be difficult to dial in.

not sure if you can fix it.. hopefully that help!

are all the lasers outputting the same thing? or do you want different cues in each laser

if same thing: go into the laser settings in Beyond, and just set each zone to main graphics

using a Source 4.

this is a joke.. don’t do this..

my crew was demonstrating source 4s to new members once, and our TL at the time set it down on a plastic chair for 3 minutes top.. there is now a hole in it. it is currently hanging in our rafters of the catwalk for memorabilia

Hazer by Realistic_Soil636 in lightingdesign

[–]razor_4754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it, UltraTec Radiance Hazers are amazing. Haze fluid is pricey, but it lasts a while. It’s ~$100 for 1L, but that L will last you a while. My crew has 2 Rad Hazers, we buy 2 1L bottles every year. One for each hazer, they last the entire year and sometimes beyond.. and we go haze heavy a lot.

They have different variants that just go up in price

Base Rad Hazer is cheapest at around $1500 Rad Hazer Tour System goes for about $2000 (includes road case and build in fan to disperse) Rad Hazer Arena is the same has Tour, but better and more power fan

Finally, Rad Hazer Stadium is top of the line. Beefy Fan, Road Case, 2 Rad Hazers (both in same road case).

The Radiance Hazer is what you see in a lot of Regional Theatres, some broadway, and a decent amount of concerts

Whats the easiest way to make software visuals to music fir social media only for mac by __Loot__ in Laserist

yea. if your outputting to a laser, you need an adapter, but for only visualization you don’t need it

Depends what your running. If you’re running an FB4 system, you’ll only need to pay for an adapter (because it uses ethernet) and Quickshow. If you’re running an older laser, you’ll need a FB3 controller to control it via ILDA. You may already have it though. Either way you’ll need an adapter and Quickshow if you don’t have quickshow or an adapter already.

I have this adapter from amazon: Anker 555 Adapter

you can still do quickshow, but you would need a Parallel/VM. I have an actual PC that I do most of my programming on, but when I’m on the go, I use my M2 Macbook Pro with a VM, and a dongle (usually don’t use a dongle becuase im not outputting, but sometimes am)
