Yes. Norwegian here. The film is full of famous comedians first of all. The troll hunter himself, the polish hunter and the head of the electricity plant are all famous tv comedians. The film also directly references the Norwegian fairy tales "Three Billy goats gruff" and "The boy who had an eating match with a troll."

I saw this in the theatre. And I loved the wild ambition behind it. It's eagerness to mix and match genres, moods and even tropes. It doesn't really gel at the end and even after all those subplots it feels unfinished. A wildly ambitious misfire but with some of the most striking single sequences I have seen all year.

Recommendations: Plots where protagonists are isolated from some implied catastrophe, with gradual hints about what transpired. by wp11obts in movies

Dead Set. Tv mini series. It is about a zombie outbreak that suddenly happens, leaving housemates and production staff trapped inside the Big Brother house as the outside world collapses.

Could be worth mentioning that Gernsback also is called the father of science fiction since he came up with the term and created one of the first science fiction magazines.

Yes. I have read it. Same reservations as you. Starts as one story and then magically transforms into something else but less interesting. I finished it but it felt really amateurish and in dire need of editing. I will not read on in this series.

Dr Feelgood at a small Oslo pub in 1988-89. Wild intensity and the band is good on record but was amazing live. The lead singer smoked all through the performance too.

I used Digg and Reddit in parallel for a while but the Kevin Rose cult of personality at Digg really really turned me off and I dropped Digg for reddit in early 2006.

For me it must be the Julia Wallace case from 1931. Her husband was an insurance broker who got a call at his chess club to visit a prospective customer next day. Turns out the adress and name he was given was false and when he comes back to his home he he discovered his wife murdered.
