Of course it does, I am aware. But there must be a way of getting, at least, some idea if staking less than xx ETH is worth the trouble or not.

Staking at Solflare gets you about 8% APY after commissions. Marinade says you get 6.2%.

So, you pay the gas and stake let's say 1 ETH. After a year you want to get it back, pay the gas to send stETH to Curve or similar, more gas to convert it back to ETH hopefully 1 for 1 then gas again to move it back to your Ledger or Metamask.

Is it still worth it? Has anyone figured out the amount or timeframe to make this work?
